I’ve realized Helena and Tim could have the same age gap as Tim and Damian. Something about that is very funny to me.
[That’s according to Tim & Damian being 17 and 10 during Red Robin (~7 years apart) and Helena being ~23 in Batman/Huntress: Cry for Blood while Tim is definitely 15, e.g. Batgirl v1 #24 and more (so ~7.5 years apart if I use Helena’s Batman and the Bold Feb 14th birthday).]
I already knew the new 52 batfam timeline sucks but having them side by side in my timeline spreadsheets really hones it in. They really tried to fit ALL of the Robins (minus Steph) into a time span that is barely longer than how long just Tim was Robin in-universe before Flashpoint.
I’ll be annoyed at Chuck Dixon’s timeline for Steph’s pregnancy arc probably forever but I’ll admit it is a little bit fun that it lasts 9 issues (so about 9 months IRL between Robin #57–65).

Discussing self contradictory comics timelines is all fun and games until someone comes up with a technically-possible timeline that completely goes against everything you hold dear.
The thing that’s always jiggling in my brain about the nature of comics canon is that, theoretically, yes, the possibilities of what’s canon are limitless; canon often reboots and contradicts itself. But practically speaking, there is still a finite number of things that have ever been established in canon.
Like there is a point at which you leave “canon self contradicts/is ambiguous about this so you could choose anything and you’d still be working within at least one version of canon” and enter “this is fanon and diverges from what has been established in any canon so far.”
And for the record, there’s nothing inherently bad about something being fanon instead of canon. Things like fanon are a natural part of interacting with stories! However, I do think sometimes people see the variance in canon and conclude that anything is canon, when that’s not quite accurate & can leave some misconceptions about parts of canon that are actually pretty clear and consistent.
Gotta respect the stubbornness of writers who still say Dick was 8 when he became Robin even as it gets increasingly impossible for him to be 8 unless you mess up everyone else’s origins and timeline.
