You know me so well, babes! Some of my personal fave moments:

One of the Timbers Twins (they still look basically the exact same) threatened Vida Oldridge with a knife?? They definitely picked up a knife while their mama Lark was talking to her, anyway.

Shay’s been starting fires! She’s been telling anyone who approaches her that it’s perfectly safe, but could that be what scored her that wonderful six in her private session??

What’s better than star-crossed lovers from the same district? Star-crossed lovers from different districts!! Bonus points when one’s a career and one isn’t! And Alex from One and Levi from Twelve have got us covered, babes!

Marina Zale seems to have adopted little Zeek Degray and it is the cutest!!

Nolie has been making some future warriors out of Kathryn Huntington, Dayta Oberon and Arista Baize, and I am living for it. We love a knife girl!

Kali Hope’s been making heart-eyes at our latest heart-throb victor, Lincoln! We don’t blame you, girl!

She’s also been seen drawing our fave tech babe Echo Huxley! So cute!!

Finnick Odair’s been giving swimming lessons! I repeat, Finnick Odair’s been giving swimming lessons! Sign me the HECK up!!

Is that a rivalry I sense forming between Vega Nero and Fiona Pope?? I swear to keep y’all posted!

Fell Vasile is still a badass. You heard it here, folks. If Two’s tributes have been practicing their sparring skills with him, then I’m excited to see what they can do in the arena!

Our fave role-model for children, Johanna Mason has been showing off her famous axe skills for both Lark’s kids and Callahan’s!

Mare Darrow’s been setting her sights a little higher. She’s been seen teaching mentor Dorian Hawthorne how to use a mace! Maybe we’ll see this skill popping up in the tributes from Three’s skillset in the next few Games? I personally would LOVE to see Dayta surprise us all and whip out a mace in the arena!

Geordi treats Data the same as any friend rather than a strange android or any other machine, but also treats him differently than any of his other friends. He is tender, he is caring, he is always there to fix him up in his most vulnerable times.

They have conversations about fear and suicide and other tough subjects. That scene where Data wakes up from a dream for the first time and instinctively covers the part of his exposed brain and Geordi touches his hand and brings it away? That’s basically all you need to know about their relationship. Data wakes up disoriented and exposed, instantly covers up his robotic parts because he’s either dysphoric about it or used to doing it for the comfort of others. And Geordi instantly says, just by touching him, that he’s there and it’s okay. And it grounds him.

For Geordi, this android friend of his defends him, honours him, and loves him despite his own confusion about what emotions are. He never pities him for being blind. In fact, they bond over the ability to see in different light spectrums.

Data trusts Geordi with his own body over anyone else. He knows Geordi is good at his job and will tell everyone Geordi is the best man to do it. Geordi shows Data how to paint and how to make models of boats and plays holodeck sherlock with him and Data always gives it an enthusiastic try. I don’t need to tell you how great it feels to show someone something you love and they’re totally down.

And when Geordi inevitably needs human stuff, like comfort or a friend to back him up despite orders from the captain not to do so… he does. Everything in Data’s programming suggests he is loyal to Starfleet and Captain Picard first and foremost. But in the end, he gives that loyalty to Geordi. And even though he can’t figure out how to navigate the nuances of grief and human comfort, he does his damned best because he doesn’t have to understand the need to mourn for someone to give Geordi the space to do so.
