June 3, 1965 10:15:59 EST Lift-off and the clock was running... Missions events were timed using GET or MET (Ground / Mission Elapsed Time): 02:50 MET = EVA delayed for one orbit 04:25 MET = EVA starts hatch opening... ( 14:41 EST ) 04:30 MET = EVA White separated from spacecraft ( 14:46 EST ) 04:55 EVA ends and Edward White’s leftside capsule hatch was closed... Note in this spacewalk photo that the time set at White’s forearm Omega Speedmaster chronograph was 17:55 with the chronograph running... The EVA ended at 15:05 EST. Time set at the wrist Speedmaster differed one hour. Both Omega Speedmaster chronographs were clearly reflected in White’s detachable Gold visor of his Gemini G-4C spacesuit helmet.
