Eric Coulter - Something about her
In which you for some unknown reason catches the eye of the ruthless Daunless leader
Masterlist
"I doubt I'll beat that huge Dauntless girl. She is clearly much stronger than me," You said annoyed as your brother, Four, was helping you with some simple fighting stances and your combat skills. No one knew he was your brother, it was a small detail that you both agreed no one needed to know about. Especially since you were doing well in the rankings, but you knew your fighting skills (your strength were speed and endurance) needed to be better in order to climb the last steps, and so Four had decided to help you after dinner for the past few days.
It was a risky move though since you weren't doing bad and the other initiates knew that, so if anyone were to notice that Four gave you private lessons, you were honestly not sure what you would say. Good thing no one had noticed it yet. At least, that is what you thought.
Four had joined Dauntless nearly six years ago you and although he was a few years older than you, you were still close. You two didn't get much time alone together and despite the fact that you had not seen much of him since he joined Dauntless, he would always be your older brother and you would always be his younger sister, and that was a bond you truly cherished, especially since the two of you had had it quite rough back in Abnegation. No matter, that was all in the past now. You would no longer wake up to the whip of a belt or to the slap of a hand.
You were for the first time in your life free.
Although you had been slightly bitter that Four left you alone with your father, you held no grudge against him. You understood him, your father was no saint, and if it wasn't for the fact that they changed the age from sixteen to eighteen for the choosing ceremony, you would have joined Four in Dauntless two years ago instead of this year, but oh well, rules were rules. At least you were here now, away from the miserable life you had once lived.
"You are a quick learner, you always have been. How do you get the upper hand?," Four asked while nodding to you, silently telling you to try to hit him. Sighing, you only shook your head because you knew there was no way you would beat your brother, but still, you went for it, trying your best to throw in a punch, but of course, Four wouldn't let you. He quickly stopped your incoming hand and with a quick move, he had tossed you around and with a soft whimper, you felt your back hit the soft mattress.
You glared as Four hovered over you, a smirk plastered on his face as he held out his hand to help you up.
"How do you get the upper hand in a fight?," He repeated as he pulled you up.
"By finding their weakness," You replied and Four nodded, satisfied, "Exactly. That Dauntless initiate that beat you yesterday is stronger and bigger than you, but she is slower and from what I have seen, cocky and arrogant. Those two traits alone will weaken her, so remember that if Eric makes you guys fight again."
Huffing annoyed at the thought of the cold hearted leader you barely knew, you went back to the starting position, keeping your right leg forward. Four went back to his position as well and with yet another smirk, he was challenging you once again, and once again, he easily dodged your attack before he quickly swept your legs from beneath you, watching with another grin as you fell again.
You had a feeling he enjoyed this more than he let on.
"Alright, I think I know what we need to go over," He said as you got up again, dusting a bit of dirt from your pants.
For the next hour, Four tried his best to teach you how to read your opponent's body, how to try to block simple moves, and how to quickly regain the upper hand if you were close to getting defeated. He also had to keep reminding you to use your arm whenever you went for their neck since you had a bad habit of using your fist and it was much easier to stop an incoming fist rather than an arm.
Once you were finished training, the two of you sat down on a bench by the wall, you way more out of breath than your brother. Four took a sip from his bottle before handing it to you since your own was empty and you immediately took a huge chug, your throat drier than you had realized.
"I don't understand why he wanted me to fight that huge girl. It was obviously a fight I wouldn't win," You commented as Four glanced at you, furrowing his eyebrows, "Hmm? Oh you mean Eric?".
"Yeah," You nodded. The humiliation of losing to that Dauntless born in front of everyone still haunted you, but who could blame you? She was built like a gorilla. You were also still confused on why that other leader had picked the two of you for the fight when he probably knew you were going to lose.
You didn't know much about Eric, after all, you had only been here for a few weeks. What you had managed to gather so far was that he was much rougher than your brother, and also, he seemed to not give a fuck if anyone got hurt during the training. He had proven that when he let that poor girl hang from the iron fence the first day of training.
"That's Eric, yeah," Four replied, taking a deep breath, "He can be completely unfair simply because he doesn't seem to care about anything but himself, but in spite of that, do not anger him or try to test his limit. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually threw someone down the Chasm one day and that better not be you."
"I don't think he likes me, so I wouldn't be surprised if he does toss me," You said slowly as you recalled the look Eric had given to you a few times ever since you joined this factor. It was like he was trying to read your mind, to find out why you were here or just simply trying to intimidate you. And it kind of worked because you were afraid of the ruthless leader, especially since he forced you to fight that bigger girl when he clearly knew you wouldn't stand a chance against her hard fist.
"Don't take it personally," Four chuckled quietly as he got up, "He doesn't like anyone but himself. Anyway, you need to get back to the dormitory. I'm having you guys run some laps tomorrow before breakfast, so you should get some rest."
"Alright. Thanks for helping me out, by the way, I appreciate it," You told him as the two of you started to leave the big training area.
You watched as Four glanced back and forth in the corridor before out of nowhere, he quickly grabbed you and pulled you against him, planting a soft kiss on the top of your forehead before breaking away.
"You're my sister, my only sister even, of course, I'll do anything I can to help you become a Dauntless," He said, his voice warm, "Now get going. I need to go and delete the footage of us, or someone might find out that I'm giving you private lessons and that will not look good."
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Night," You nodded as Four left you. You watched his back as he made his way down the corridor before he rounded the corner and was out of your sight. You couldn't help but smile as you started to walk in the opposite direction. It felt good having your brother back in your life again and you promised yourself you would work your ass off in order to not join the factionless. You didn't think you could handle losing your brother again.
You were just about to round the corner when you heard a cold voice coming from somewhere behind you, "Taking private lessons, are we?".
Fuck.
You quickly stopped in your tracks. You didn't even have to turn around in order to see who it was, that strict voice of his was a voice you heard every day during the training. It even haunted you in your dreams as well, his constant yelling for everyone to get better.
"I asked you a question, initiate," The Dauntless leader said dryly as he stepped out from whatever shadow he had been hiding in. You glanced at him as he stepped in front of you, his blue eyes staring at you with such intensity that you almost looked away, but you didn't want to give him the satisfaction of being scared.
"It sounded more like a statement," You replied unsurely. Eric's eyes darkened as he looked at you, not satisfied with your attitude and you gulped nervously. You didn't want to get on his bad side, especially since there was no one around here at the moment.
"Careful," His voice was quiet, but you could hear the warning in his tone. He wasn't playing around, "Let us try again; taking private lessons, are we?".
"I don't know what you are talking about," You mumbled. You looked away, but Eric forcefully grabbed your chin, turning your face so that you had no choice but to meet his cold look. Raising a brow, he chuckled quietly while his thumb stroked your cheek. It almost looked romantic, the way he held your chin and the way the two of you stood so close, but you were anything but calm. You wouldn't be surprised if your heart rate was way past a hundred.
"I must say I was slightly surprised to see Four train you a few nights ago," Eric went on, almost in a whisper as he stared at you, "Especially since you aren't the worst among the initiates this year. Four has never given anyone private lessons and with your looks, I was sure he was going to break his rule about not flirting with the new kids, but I haven't seen anything that looks close to flirting between the two of you, so the only thing I can come up with is that you guys are family."
You blinked, your throat going dry as Eric looked at you with a triumph smirk. What the hell were you supposed to say? You didn't want to get Four into any trouble, but somehow you had a feeling Eric would see right through you if you tried to lie.
As if reading your mind, Eric gently patted your cheek before letting go of your chin. Smirking coldly at you, he went on, "Don't worry, princess, I'm not going to tell anyone. I couldn't care less about Four although I wouldn't mind getting him kicked out of here for helping an initiate, but let's just say I don't mind him helping you if that means you get to....stay".
Confused, you glanced up at him since he was at least a head taller than you. Your heart was still beating pretty fast, but for some weird reason, you felt yourself calm down slightly. You were sure you had been in trouble when Eric approached you, but he didn't seem too mad about you training with a leader behind everyone's back.
And what had he meant by the stay comment? Did he want you to become a Dauntless and in that case, why?
"Can I go back to the dorm?", You asked quietly when Eric didn't say anything. He was only looking at you with a thoughtful expression.
However, just as you were about to walk past him, he gently grabbed your arm, preventing you from leaving. Alarmed, you glanced up at him, thinking you had pissed him off somehow, but he was only staring at you with an unreadable look in his blue eyes.
Just as he was about to say something, a set of footsteps could be heard running nearby. Eric immediately let go of your arm and he took a step back, his eyes darkening as he stared at something behind you. You quickly turned your head and breathe out in relief as Four approached the two of you, his steps hard against the ground while his jaw was clenched.
"Get away from her, Eric," Four said as he gently grabbed you and placed himself between you and the other Dauntless leader.
"What if I don't want to?," Was the only thing Eric said as he stepped forward, his chest almost bumping into Four as the two alphas glared at one another.
"Don't fucking go there," Four replied coldly before quickly glancing at you, "Go back to the dorm. Now."
You only nodded and with one last glance at the two hot headed men, you quickly walked past them and headed back to the sleeping area and as you climbed back into your small bed and got under the blanket, you had a feeling that Eric wasn't done with you.

"Alright, initiates, that's enough laps for now. Go get some breakfast, all of you," Four shouted, his tone a bit sharper than it used to be. You glanced at him as you pulled out a fuzzy napkin from your back pocket, using it to dry your sweaty face. You had lost track of how many rounds you guys had run already, but it felt like forever out there and you were out of breath for once (running had always been a strength of yours) which rarely happened.
As Four's eyes found you, you could tell he wanted to talk to you and you could also see that he was in bad mood. As he started to make his way towards you while the rest of the initiates left the training room, you saw his eyes quickly dart to the doors, almost as if he was expecting a certain someone to suddenly appear.
"What happened last night?," He asked the moment he stopped in front of you. He was looking at you with a concerned expression and you knew you were talking to your older brother now, not your Dauntless instructor.
"Nothing happened really," You shrugged, still a bit confused about last night, "He was suddenly there, mostly to point out that he knew about you tutoring me. He has also figured out that we are family although I never confirmed his suspicion. How did you know he was talking to me?".
"The cameras," Four explained, "I was deleting the footage of us training together when I saw him grab your arm. Did he hurt you?".
"No," You said, shaking your head, "He didn't. Nothing too bad happened, I'm not even sure why he wanted to talk to me. He was probably just bored."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Four mumbled just as Eric's broad figure appeared in the doorway, his blue eyes glaring at your brother with a slight annoyance before he looked at you and you couldn't help but notice the slight smirk playing in the corner of his lips are your eyes met. Gulping, you immediately looked away, glancing back up at Four, who had his jaw clenched.
"Four, stop holding back the princess, breakfast is being served," Eric snickered from the doorway before he gave you guys one last lazy look as he turned his back and disappeared. Staring after him, although Four couldn't see him anymore, you watched as your brother tensed even more and so you quickly nudged him, turning his attention back to you again.
"I should probably get going though. I'm starving and I know Eric is having us fight today," You said. Four only nodded, but just when you were about to leave, he gently tugged you back, giving you a worried look, "Be careful around Eric, I don't like the way he is looking at you."
* * *
As the big girl groaned in pain and tapped her hand against the mattress, you couldn't help but grin in triumph as Four discreetly nodded you, pleased that you used your brain and speed to beat the bigger girl. Her name was Amy and she gave you a sneer as she ignored your helping hand. You only shrugged, not really bothering to apologize to her. She had given you quite the fight the other day, and you knew she had enjoyed every second of it, so you really didn't feel bad about winning this time.
She had managed to get in a few good punches though and your ribcage did hurt slightly, but Four had been right about her arrogance. It was a clear weakness of hers, and so when she thought she had the upper hand, you had surprised her by butt heading her and then rolled the two of you over before your fist came in contact with her head and face over and over (she did her best to protect herself with her arms) until she had tapped out, knowing that she wasn't going to win this time.
As one of the other initiates, your think her name was Tris, handed you a towel to wipe away some blood from your lip, your eyes met the cold look to Eric, who was leaning against the wall, staring at you with a thoughtful expression. Raising a brow at your curious look, he gave you a short nod and you couldn't help but blush slightly, knowing that he was silently applauding your victory.
Later that evening, you found yourself sitting by the bar in the Pit, your new friend Tris sitting next to you. You had both ordered a weird, red drink that reminded you of blood, but as you took a sip, you couldn't help but think of fresh strawberries and lime. And a dash of rum, although you had only tasted that one time before.
"Four is looking really good over there," Tris mumbled, blushing slightly as she stared at your brother who was currently standing in a circle with a few other leaders. He was talking to one of them, a serious look on his face, but then you watched as he nodded, chuckling to himself.
You didn't say anything as Tris kept drooling over him. What were you supposed to say? You slowly turned your head, taking another sip of your drink when your eyes suddenly spotted Eric and your heart made a slight jump as you realized he had already been looking at you. He was sitting on the other side of the bar, his elbows resting on the counter, giving you a view of his huge biceps.
After a while of you two just staring at one another, you slowly turned your attention back to Tris, who was rambling about never having the opportunity to taste alcohol before. She also said something about getting a tattoo, but to be honest, you weren't really listening to her. In the corner of your eye, you noticed Eric getting up from his seat, brushing off a woman with short, blonde hair whom you had not seen before. She looked slightly pissed and you saw her say something to him, which only caused him to give her an angry look and you gasped quietly as you saw him push her away from him. She stumbled and fell against the person behind her, who quickly grabbed her shoulder, stopping her fall.
Eric only glared at her before he pushed his way through the crowd and disappeared. You sat there, feeling a bit embarrassed for the woman. It was clear that she wanted to talk to Eric about something, but from the looks of it, she wasn't worth his time.
"Are you even listening to me? You keep staring at something behind us-" You heard Tris begin, and you glanced at her, unsure of why she paused. She was staring at something, or someone behind you, her eyes slightly big. You slowly turned your head when you felt a big hand on your lower back and your eyes went round as well as you looked up at Eric.
"Didn't you just leave?," You asked stupidly, raising your voice a bit since the music was pretty loud. You felt Tris shift nervously behind you.
"Keeping an eye on me, princess?," Eric said darkly, although there was a hint of amusement in his cold eyes as he looked at you. Blushing, you sat there, your mouth slightly open, not really sure how to reply to his observation.
"It's alright," He whispered, leaning his head closer to you, his lips brushing against your ear for one split second, "I've been watching you as well, princess".
You felt a shiver run down your spine as Eric took a step back, but not before making sure his hand brushed against yours, if only for a moment. What game was he playing with you?
"Anyway, enjoy your evening. Just don't do anything stupid," Eric went on, giving you a small nod before turning his back and this time, you kept your eyes on him the entire time until he disappeared out of the doors. Furrowing your brows in pure confusion, you turned your head and looked at Tris, who was still sitting behind you with a perplexed look on her face.
"What the heck was that all about?," She shouted over the music, leaning closer to you so that it would be easier to hear one another.
"I have no clue," You replied, shrugging.
"He is handsome, but he scares me," Tris went on, "but if anything, I got my eyes on someone else. Besides, it's not like I would stand a chance with Eric."
"What do you mean?," You sent her a confused look, "You're beautiful, Tris, you could get any guy you wanted if you went in for it."
"Please, have you seen yourself?," Tris chuckled and shook her head, "You're gorgeous and it's clear that Eric thinks so too. I mean, he keeps looking at you during every session, it's like you're the only initiate in the room for him."
"I haven't noticed," You said slowly, your heart doing another silly jump. Was that true? What the heck was so special about you? Sure, you were one of the top five on the board, but still, you had never thought of yourself as anything special. So why was he keeping an eye on you?
Quickly brushing those confusing thoughts aside, you decided to change the subject, not wanting Tris to suspect anything. You spent the rest of the evening trying your best to help Tris gain Four's attention and when that didn't work, you found yourself dancing with some random initiates, just having fun and laughing, not worrying about the training tomorrow. All you knew was that Eric had decided to take you all out for a field trip and something told you it wasn't going to be a picnic.
After a few hours, you hugged Tris goodbye for the night, wanting nothing more than to get back to the dormitory and sleep. Your head was spinning slightly and you could feel a headache coming, and so you figured you would call it a night. Tris had asked if you needed help getting back since she noticed that you weren't feeling well, but you promised her you were fine, and soon you found yourself walking down an empty hall, your head hurting slightly.
Out of nowhere, you suddenly heard someone whisper something and the next second, someone punched you hard straight in your face. Groaning, you immediately went to defend yourself as your attacker tripped you, causing you to fall hard on the ground. Blood was pouring from your nose and down your face, and you cursed angrily as you quickly got up, blocking the attacker's incoming punch.
With big eyes, you recognized the Dauntless girl, Amy, the one you had beaten earlier. She was sneering at you, "Think you're clever, huh? You're just a weak, little Abnegation girl, you're not going to last here in Dauntless and we both know that."
"Pretty sure I won this morning," You taunted and she glared at you angrily before launching herself at you. You both fell on the ground, the dust and dirt around you flying everywhere as you kicked her hard in her stomach with your knee before punching her as hard as you could in her cocky face. She screamed angrily at you and you couldn't help but grin as you noticed blood was now streaming out from her own nose as well.
"That's called karma, bitch," You mumbled, but the next second, you felt her hand shot out, gripping your neck tightly before you could react. Your eyes went round and big as you realized she was actually trying to kill you. She was staring up at you with a wild look in her eyes, and you watched as she smiled triumphantly as she started to suffocate you. You reached your hands out, trying to claw against her face, but she barely felt it. She was too busy trying to kill you.
In fact, she was too busy squeezing your throat that she didn't notice the figure behind her. In less than a second, you felt her hands leave you at the same time as she screamed in agony, her body disappearing beneath you. You rolled to your side, coughing over and over while trying your best to see what the hell was going on through the blurry vision.
You couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief as you watched Eric drag her by her hair before practically lifting her up with one hand, smashing her harshly against the wall. She was crying now, trying to prey his hand off of her, but obviously, she stood no chance. Eric didn't even seem to notice her fingers on his arm as he kept holding her up with one hand, suffocating her just like she had done to you.
You honestly didn't care about her, but you knew it wouldn't be right to kill her. Making her factionless seemed to be the right choice, especially after this ugly ambush of hers.
"Eric," You managed to say, your voice weak, still trying your best to get your breath back.
"Eric," You repeated more firmly when he didn't hear you and you watched as his eyes flickered to you for one moment. He looked worried, but when he noticed that you were still breathing, he turned his attention back to the girl.
"Eric, enough!," You shouted as you clumsily stood back up again, your whole body trembling. You were still bleeding and both your throat and head hurt like hell, but you couldn't let him kill her. You had no idea what punishment lay ahead of a leader if they killed an initiate, heck, you didn't even know if there would be a punishment, but it didn't matter. You didn't want him to kill anyone, especially not in front of you.
You quickly went over to him and gently touched his arm. The girl was rolling her eyes back into her head and you could tell she was about to give up.
"Eric, for fuck' sake, let her go!", You said angrily before taking a step back, clutching your head. Everything was spinning like crazy and it felt as if your whole body was on fire.
You suddenly heard the heavy sound of the girl hitting the ground and you couldn't help but take a deep sigh of relief as you noticed she was breathing, clutching her own neck and chest, just trying to get her breath back.
"Still karma," You managed to mumble and a low chuckle left your mouth as the girl tiredly glared at you. Eric looked at you confused for a second before he walked over to you and out of nowhere, he lifted you up bridal style, a worried look in his blue eyes as he quickly took in your appearance.
He turned to look down at the pathetic initiate on the ground and you could feel him tense against you, his body slightly trembling as he spoke, his voice filled with pure hate, "You're leaving the faction first thing in the morning, so if I were you, I would go pack your stuff."
With that, he quickly walked away, still holding you in his arms.
You coughed quietly, your pulse still quite high, "You didn't even ask who attacked first."
"I didn't have to," Eric mumbled as he looked down at you.
"What if I attacked her first?," You asked weakly.
"We both know it wasn't you," Eric said dryly and you couldn't help but laugh. He raised a brow, puzzled at your small outburst of happiness, "You seem to take this quite well considering you were close to dying."
"Death isn't ready for me yet," You snickered stupidly and you watched as Eric's lip nearly formed into a small smile.
You couldn't help but study him since you had never been this close to him before. Tris was right. Eric was handsome, like ridiculous handsome, and even though he had a bad reputation among the initiates, you didn't feel scared around him anymore. He saved you after all.
"Thank you," You said quietly as you noticed he was walking down the hall that lead to the infirmary. You had never been treated for any wounds before, but on the first day in Dauntless, Four had shown you and the other initiates where to go if you got any bad injures.
"Hmm?," Eric glanced down at you again, his blue eyes piercing into your own.
"Thank you for saving me back there," You answered as you gave him a soft smile, "I would probably have been dead if you hadn't shown up."
"Don't worry, death isn't ready for you yet," Eric said with an amused look and this time, you both chuckled together. You couldn't help but blush when you noticed him staring at your lips for a second. He noticed you looking at him and he gave you a slight wink, causing you to blush even more.
"How did you know I needed help?," You asked, not wanting him to shut down just yet.
"I saw her on the camera. She was watching you during the party and then she left a moment after you left. I knew she wasn't up to anything good and as always, I was right," Eric told you and you nodded weakly, before you gave him a small smirk, trying your best to ignore the pain that shot through your head, "Were you keeping an eye on me?".
Eric looked down at you and this time, it was a smirk plastered on his handsome face. He wasn't even trying to hide it and you mentally jumped in excitement, knowing that you were slowly making him show his true side to you.
"You know I was, princess," He replied simply and you blinked, "I don't understand why. There is nothing special about me. Or are you simply trying to piss Four of?".
You felt him tense for one split second, but then he relaxed against you and you sent him an unclear look.
"What?," You whispered quietly, causing the Dauntless leader to glance at you again. His blue eyes were staring at you with a thoughtful look and you noticed how they once again fell down on your lips for a moment before they came back to your eyes.
Raising a brow, you waited for his response.
"We'll be at the infirmary shortly," He said and you huffed against him, disappointed that he was avoiding your question.
"I don't need help, I just need to sleep," You retorted as you felt slight dizziness take over your body as Eric kept you in a firm hold, your head resting against his hard chest.
"You'll be sleeping soon, princess," He mumbled quietly.
You only nodded, allowing yourself to close your eyes as you could hear his steady heartbeat against your ear.
"I like when you call me princess," You said quietly, your voice barely audible. The last thing you saw before drifting to sleep was Eric's blue eyes.
* * *
"What the hell happened to her? Did someone strangle her?," The nurse, Alida, asked with a concerned look as Eric laid you down on the bed, softly.
He nodded, slight anger rushing through him at the thought of you nearly dying, "She was attacked. I need to go take care of her ambusher."
Alida looked at him with a worried look while gently removing the blood from your face and neck with a wet towel. Eric watched as she with her other hand fiddled with some pills, pills he recognized would help against pain and headaches.
"Make sure no one visits her. She needs to recover, I don't want anyone to disturb her rest," Eric ordered and the nurse nodded as she went to wash the towel.
As she went to the other room, probably to get a syringe or two, Eric took a step closer to the bed, his eyes glued to your face. Even bruised up, you were still beautiful. Tilting his head, he gently stroked your cheek, just enjoying the feeling of your warm skin against his cold hand. You stirred, moving your head a bit, but your eyes were still kept shut and so he knew you were fast asleep.
Glancing towards the door to check if Alida was coming back any second, Eric quickly turned his head back to you and leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss on your forehead, "Get some rest, princess,".
He then took a step back, just when Alida returned with the stuff she needed to treat you.
"She better be safe in your hands," Eric said coldly as Alida gestured for him to move. The young nurse only rolled her eyes, used to Eric bossing her around, although she was slightly wondering who the pretty initiate was. Eric had never carried an initiate in his arms like that, he usually dragged them to the doorsteps before pushing them inside, shouting at them for being stupid or weak.
This time, it was different and obviously it had everything to do with the young woman sleeping on the bed.
"Do I have to repeat myself, Alida?," Eric sent her a strict look and the nurse nodded, "Don't worry, Eric, I heard you the first time. She is safe here and I won't let anyone visit her."
"Good," Eric said pleased before he went to leave the room. He was standing in the doorway, his hand on the wall when he turned his head to look at your sleeping form one last time, "Oh, by the way, I suppose Four can visit her, but only him. I'm sure he won't take no for a no once he hears what happened."
The nurse nodded, although a bit puzzled, but she quickly brushed it off as she turned her attention back to the dark marks on your neck.
With that, Eric left the infirmary, heading back to find that ugly Dauntless girl to make sure she was packing her stuff. He didn't care about informing the other leaders about his decision, he knew they would support him though, but he just wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible. The longer she was here, breathing the same air as him, the harder it would be for him to control his temper.
The thought of you getting killed under his watch stirred something inside him. He barely knew you, yet there was something about you that caught his attention. He knew that he would probably go ballistic if the big girl had managed to kill you, and he also knew that he didn't mind Four helping you.
This was probably the first, and for sure the last time, he would see eye to eye with the other leader. He disliked Four, the brown haired instructor was not worth his time, but if Four could help you become a member of the faction, then Eric would gladly let him aid you.
Just like death wasn't ready for you, Eric knew he wasn't ready to let you go either.
