Writing Challenge Weekend Masterpost

This time want to do a random prompt challenge. I have three picker wheels below. One for word, one for genre, and one for AO3 tag. You can use all three or any combination. I find a lot of people when they get stuck really enjoy being randomly prompted. So keep this in your back pocket for those nasty blocks.

Harding week is almost here! Just a few more days! So, I thought I'd share some things I've been working on.

I've already shown the first one, so I'm cheating a little and showing it again, because I'm leaving the finished work for next week. The other ones are new.

I've included the 3rd one, the "concept art", because it amuses me. Funnily enough, the 4th one is the one that has me fighting for my life for some reason, even though I wanted that one to be the simplest. 😆 I'm still trying to figure it out and shape it into something I like.

“You doing okay there, Rook?”

Rook’s chest was heaving and dry, even as lightning cracked outside. Their eyes were both blurred to near blindness and painfully sharp, isolating their target. Lightning cracked again and the beating of their heart finally began to slow. Their vision cleared around the backlit figure of the dwarven girl, crouched over them with an outstretched hand.

“Rook?”

“H-harding?” 

She moved aside, allowing the light from a lantern left outside the door to define the room enough for the elf to orient themself. They saw her. They saw the scorched wood of a lightning bolt on the frame behind her. They didn't see any shame or judgment on Harding's face. She could never.

“Trouble sleeping again?”

“I guess,” they admitted as they sat up. 

“Nightmares?”

HARDING WEEK PROMPT SURVEY

The time has arrived to show and share our love for everyone’s favorite dwarf with a freckled face! Harding Week is approaching as fast as one of Harding’s arrows.

Harding Week will take place in late July this year, and the hashtag will be #DATVHarding2026.
