Ingredients: 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 2 large egg yolks. 2 large egg whites. 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pinch of salt. Powdered sugar for dusting. Whipped cream optional.
Instructions: Preheat your air fryer to 375F 190C for about 5 minutes. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in 20-second increments, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar until it becomes pale and slightly thick. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, whisking continuously until well combined. In another clean bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold one-third of the egg white mixture into the chocolate mixture to lighten it. Then, carefully fold in the remaining egg whites until no streaks remain. Grease two ramekins and fill them with the souffl mixture, leaving a little space at the top for rising. Place the ramekins in the preheated air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the souffls have puffed up and the tops are set. The exact cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer, so keep an eye on them. Remove the souffls from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. They will deflate slightly as they cool. Dust the souffls with powdered sugar and serve immediately. You can also top them with whipped cream if desired. Enjoy your delicious chocolate souffls!
