I can’t imagine her ever going for someone who didn’t at least match her intellect in some regard. I like that you said charismatic and not charming, because I feel like Penelope associates the word “charming” with men like Hiram who are manipulative and untrustworthy. Love notes and flowers in envelopes! I adore. She’s a hopeless romantic, so honestly....yeah. That would get her.

I don’t think Darryl necessarily fits the bill for this type, though! Maybe I’m misremembering because it’s been a while since I watched the flashback episode, but I just remember him being portrayed as nerdy? Not in the have-to-follow-the-rules, teacher’s pet-way like Pen, but in the way-too-obsessed gamer way. I feel like he’d be more awkward than charismatic. And, like...he did try and get Penelope to drink poison with him, so I can see why she wasn’t attracted lmao.

everyone making fun of Hal for being a little adventure scout and always being prepared but he winds up saving everyone’s ass at the end. I support this.

Fred was an adventure scout too but god know he’s spent that time goofing off and the only merit badges he got were ones for physical activities the boy couldn’t tie a proper knot or start a fire or identify safe berried to eat. all Fred cares about is outdoing Hiram. they both end up with poison ivy in interesting places.
