Maglor's spirit animal?
I know the crab thing is a meme, but it's also very accurate?
First of all, we have a weird saying in Spanish to refer to people who are daydreaming/distracted which translates to "Thinking about crab's immortality". Apparently, the reasons for the phrase are two. One is a supposed greek myth in which a crab tells Zeus they are inmortal because they walk sideways and, by doing that, deceive time. The other is the fact that they can regenerate their exo skeleton, making it look like they can regenerate eternally and not die from age (which they do). In any case, the phrase makes absolutely no sense, but it has linked "immortality" and "crabs" forever in my mind. And Maglor is like that for me too. Forever roaming ME, alive until someone proves the opposite.
The other reason, besides the obvious "living by the sea, walking on the beach and avoiding people", are hermit crabs. I heavily associate Maglor with The Hermit tarot card. And he definitely lives in isolation and has plenty of knowledge he shares in the form of song. But also, he is said to be soft. The softest among his brothers. And hermit crabs use shells as an extra layer of protection because they have a soft exo skeleton.
(you could also say that he moved around a lot during the 1 age, but the same could be said about 90% of the characters in that period tbh)
So, I know it's not majestic, I know you probably wanted something more magical, but the answer for me is hermit crab.
