Syd Barrett - Dark Globe (1970)
I knew the version on Madcap Laughs, and I'd heard the version on Opel, but this one (released on a bootleg in 1986) is very different from both. The Madcap Laughs track is painful and out of tune at times, whereas this one has "a ghostly and slightly out-of-sync vocal shadowing the main one. That ghostly shadow enhances the woozy mystique of the recording considerably"*
The great man himself Robyn Hitchcock, seen here earlier this evening in the midst of performing an earth-shattering rendition of Syd Barrett's Dark Globe.

From the art installation and concert at Cambridge Corn Exchange, 2016-10-27. The art installation was made by Clare Palmier and Spadge Hopkins. The concert featured Men On The Border with Sandviken Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tomas Agnas. Lights by Peter Wynne-Willson and narration by David Gale.
