matter much less than which type

of ice cream tastes best.

keep from wondering what it

feels like to be dawn.

great waters, at the highest

summit lies the deep.

wings, locomotive climbing

up the ancient pass.

and scatter, luminous in

their meaninglessness.

you, but I'm feeling vastly

less smart already.

there, it will no longer be

where I was going.

all this is gone. Indeed, it’s

been gone all along.

knights, bishops and rooks, queens and

kings: the infinite.

moon will ever explain the

night, much less the day.

a sound, just beams drifting down

through gathering clouds.

legs feel it first, the great shift.

Get ready to run.

a snail to crawl all the way

from this end to that?

ringer off, wondering where

all this blood came from.

between illuminated

fields receding.

getting old is, in theory,

the alternative.

than which flavor of ice cream

is the tastiest.
