Some of the spooky reads in my pile this season. I'm a little over halfway done with the Dark Archives book, and am very much enjoying it. Fascinating stuff!
“Unlike the Necronmicon or the spellbook in Disney’s 1993 film Hocus Pocus, real human skin books do not usually immediately announce themselves with a ghoulish appearance. They do not look much different from any other antiquarian book you would find on the shelf. It’s likely some are quietly resting in library stacks, hiding in plain sight. Even if you are holding one right now, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell.”
This is the end of the author’s note of a book about binding books in human skin, aka, one of the first things you read.
