An Archive of Our Own, a project of the
Organization for Transformative Works
Guys? I've worked two years on this thing.
Darcy Lewis / Natasha Romanov is, as you well know, my favourite pairing so, of course, I had to stop every project I'm working on to deliver this one.
It's M rated, it's Dark, there are some horror elements and there's also a tiny tiny attempt at smut (barely 20 words, I'm such a puritan when it comes to writing smut, go figure!), but it's got fluff and angst and Friends being only friends, so that's awesome!
I've tried so hard to deliver something you would enjoy, and I hope you do.
Thank you so much for sticking with me for so long.

Summary:
âBecause if I go to this family gathering single,â Darcy mutters into the book, âShe and aunt Madeline will badger me about being single and why I canât keep a partner. And then spend the evening pointing out why my cousin Caroline is superior to me, because she has a fiance and she's built like a model, while Iâm short and constantly stuffing my face with uncle Joshuaâs homemade pecan apple pie. Which of course Iâm gonna stuff my face with it, because he only makes it around the Holidays, AND itâs the legitimate only thing that man can make without accidentally poisoning you or burning it and the kitchen down.â
Or, some Darcy/Nat fake pretend relationship to fool the relatives.

Darcyland femslash prompts - Day 2Requested by: anonPrompt: Darcy x Natasha - Werewolf Darcy
The thing about having a werewolf in the family was that nothing much changed. If at all.Â
Darcy was not, actually, much worse than Bruce when he had a bad day (or one of the girls on PMS, Tony caustically reasoned).Â
She was a bit stronger, and furrier, somehow fluffier, even, but she was also a very controlled wolf, albeit a very playful one.
However, Wolf Darcy was a separate entity from Human Darcy, and had an extremely long memory. And was very touchy. And held grudges. All the grudges.
So, whenever the full moon was about to rise, Clint and Tony were the very first to leave Darcyâs rooms. Interestingly enough, so would Bruce (according to him, the Other Guy had flashbacks of Fenris and tried to headbutt the much softer and weaker Darcy multiple times).
Steve, Bucky and Thor could totally wrestle with Darcy and win with no difficulty whatsoever, but were sympathetic to the girlâs plea and usually left her be.
âI really donât understand, okay?â complained Tony to Steve once he was out of the room. âI made one joke about the petrifying urine - just the one - and here I am, in the dog house. Or outside of it,â he frowned. Clint snickered. Steve just sighed, as if trying to summon more patience.
âIf youâre done being children, you can leave and let us sleep some, yes?â Natashaâs voice was mocking and patronizing, and Tony twitched.
Excuse them. âLet us sleep, what do you mean, let yo-â Oh. The words died in his throat.Â
On a pile of messy sheets and pillows, happily wagging her tail belly up, was the horse size wolf, her tongue lolling out her mouth and over her very sharp teeth.
And with her hands in the mahogany fur, scratching happily under the wolfâs chin, was Natasha, in a very fuzzy looking and pink pyjamas, looking extremely pleased.
That was new.
âI have questions,â was the only thing that came out.
Darcyâs tail stopped and her left brown eye stared him down.
âWeâll let you be,â interrupted Steve, steering the rest of the Avengers out.
âHave fun,â Tony grumbled.
A loud, happy bark almost made him jump.
âWe will!â

Prompt: soulmates!au darcy/natasha, nat has "if you kill me with your thighs i will die happy" (or something similar) for her soulmate tattoo
Awww I think this was done before, but before today I never tried soulmates and I love the trope so YES. YES. Hopefully, I wonât mess up. Also... it... well, itâs long.
âIâll take some milk with mine, thank youâ was not what the future Leader of the World wanted on their collarbone, to be frank.
And it wasnât that she hadnât tried either⌠well, letâs just say that Darcy had given a lot of shots at the barista, coffee shop, tea shop and even Italian coffee parlors worker profession in her life.Â
She also had collected enough false positives to last her a lifetime. It was the reason she greeted everybody with random and eccentric epithets. It kept people on their toes, and herself from a heartbreak. It also kept her out of a job more often than not (âwhat do you mean All Hail the Spider Queen is not an acceptable greeting, Brenda?!â).
But anyway, the actual meeting happened so far from a coffee shop it wasnât even funny.
At five in the morning, nobody was allowed to be verbal. Like, nobody. It was a tragedy to even be awake at that hour.
So Darcy, forced by her Science band (who she loved very much) to stay awake for âjust another couple of hours then weâll go to bed, promise!â was making coffee.
That didnât take into consideration, of course, the magical powers of coffee beans. Before she knew it, she was serving everybody breakfast.
Thankfully, she just needed to refill the mugs and grunt affirmatively every time somebody talked to her.
Unfortunately, she wasnât awake enough to give any kind of response to her fucking soulmate, who said her words, waited for some kind of answer, and got a stupid, single grunt in response. Oh, fuck her.
So, what do you do when your soulmate might be somebody ten leagues out of your league, so beautiful and so deadly and youâre madly attracted but you just now realized youâve actually never spoken to her? Try to avoid her, of course.
The plan worked for around seven hours. Because she was asleep.
Darcy slithered out of her room at almost 1pm, her fluffy, red pajamas in plain sight because she couldnât be bothered to put on pants. She was crawling back to bed as soon as she was done with food.
A whirlwind from the vents had other ideas âDarcy, help me!â Clint hissed fearfully from above her. âHide me, sheâs going to find me and kill me. With her tighs!â
She barely had the time to hide Clint in her room that the Russian spy was behind her, frowning. âHave you seen Clint? I need to murder him.â
Until the moment she died, Darcy would curse her lack of filter, sleep deprivation and the sheer awesomeness of Natasha Romanoff, because what her brain wanted to say, namely âNo sorry I havenât,â actually ended up sounding âIf I were to die between your thighs Iâd die a happy woman.â
And it was probably not the answer she was expecting, and in hindsight, that was a terrible non-sequitur, but Natashaâs eyes widened, her mouth opened a little, and then she just⌠tensed. She shuddered and left without a backward glance.
It hurt. Three seconds after the woman had disappeared, the intern realized this was her soulmate, after all. And she⌠was being rejected? Maybe?
Darcy tried to ignore the pain, and successfully ignored Clintâs shocked gasp.
She was going back to bed. And then, she would probably review her life choices.
When she woke up, she wasnât alone in her bed.
Bright, wide green eyes watched her closely from the pillow at her left. Natasha hadnât slipped under the covers, but she was still awfully close. And in her room.
Darcy jumped and fell out of the bed, but at least she made no sound save from a very sharp gasp. She peered over the edge of the bed at the Russian spy. âPlease donât do it again?â That. Was scary.Â
Natasha just looked at her for another minute. â...I thought you were a mark,â she whispered, in the end.
That brought Darcy up short with alarming clarity. Oh God. âI.. I am so sorry,â she breathed. It didnât cover half of what she should be saying. Her mark was probably what had ruined her life.Â
Natasha scowled. âI was already a monster when my mark appeared. They were thrilled, of course. I was horrified. One of them, I kept saying, one of them will be the tipping point,â she laughed self deprecatingly. âTurns out it was you.â
âYou are not a monsterâ the young woman stated. The spyâs scowl hardened and her fists clenched. Darcy didnât know Natasha well. Actually, she didnât know her at all, but she couldnât help feeling the pain at her words, and oh this suffering didnât belong to her face.
âI thought I was going to be a barista,â she mumbled, out of the blue. It wasnât bound to help much, but she had to concede they werenât on âdeep heart to heart meaning of life levelâ conversations, yet. She shrugged and slightly uncovered her collarbone to show the loopy handwriting. âI wanted to become the Leader of the World. go figure.â
Natashaâs lips twitched slightly, and Darcyâs heart fluttered a bit.Â
Despite popular belief, Natasha sucked at cooking. She knew just enough to pass as a young, inexperienced girl and what she knew almost exclusively amounted to how to poison somebody without alerting the police before vanishing.
It wasnât a problem, per se. The Tower had a direct access to JARVIS approved caterers and her girlfriend actually loved to cook, so Natasha hadnât seen the point to learn the skill, at all.
In hindsight, as she struggled with the third set of instructions for the Lasagna that involved the use of a whole cup of âbesciamellaâ and three parts of âragĂšâ, she should have given it a chance before trying a fully homemade meal.
Darcy arrived just as the lasagna was cooling on the counter, looking tired and harried. âHi, Nat. We still game for the movie marathon, right? I just had the mo-â She took one look at the state of the kitchen and did a double take. âWhat the-Wha- Natasha, what?â
The spy chuckled sheepishly. âDonât worry, Iâll clean it up. Go get some comfy pants, you.âÂ
Darcy nodded slowly. âOkay... Love you.â
âMoviesâ and the usual comfort was the best way to spend the evening, but for the whole dinner, the box in Natashaâs pocket burned. She was sure of what she was about to do, Darcy and she had been going out for years and had moved in together six months ago, they were basically married.
Still, her hands felt clammy and she could only half concentrate on the conversation. Not that Darcy was doing any better, for she kept twitching distractedly and forgetting what they were talking about. Tony must have done a number on her at work. She resolved to chew him out later.Â
âSo... movie?â she prompted at the end, when it was clear that focusing just wasnât happening. Darcy jolted from the seat as if electrocuted. âSure, sure, let me...â and she turned to tinker with their DVDs cabinet. Why she insisted they kept one sheâd never understand, but then again, Darcy never complained about the knives either.
Itâs now or never, she thought, dropping on one knee and taking the box from behind her back.
âDarcy-ââNatasha-â They both stopped.
Darcy turned.
For about ten seconds, they both stared, wide-eyed, at the twin boxes in their hands, uncomprehendingly. Then Darcy squealed. And Natasha was still staring because she had considered many scenarios, including rejection and a scary one where Darcy asked her to go back to friends, but never in her mid she had considered her girlfriend would...
âYES! Natasha, YES! Of course Iâll marry you!â And it was watching her love kneel before her too, both on the floor, that made her realize this was actually happening.Â
