#daishonin

In un brano degli Insegnamenti Orali, il Daishonin osservò: "Quando ti inchini verso uno specchio, l'immagine riflessa si inchina a sua volta". Le persone che rispettano gli altri sono a loro volta rispettate. Coloro che nutrono una compassione senza riserve e si curano degli altri sono protetti e aiutati dagli altri. Il nostro ambiente è essenzialmente un riflesso di noi stessi. In a passage of the Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings the Daishonin observes: "When you bow to a mirror, the reflected image bows back". People who respect others are respected by others in turn. Those who are unstinting in their compassion and concern for others are also protected and supported by others. Our environment is essentially a reflection of ourselves.

As we work for the greater good, we build happiness for ourselves and others. The more we do for other people, the more the path of our own happiness will open up. In realizing this, we discover a sense of gratitude in being able to help them.

People who live a life of tenacity and challenge break through all the obstacles they face just as water eventually carves a path through rock. Be strong like constantly flowing water, ever moving forward.

Worthy persons deserve to be called so because they are not carried away by the eight winds: prosperity,decline,disgrace,honor,praise, censure,suffering, and pleasure. They are neither elated by prosperity nor grieved by decline. The heavenly gods will surely protect one who is unbending before the eight winds.
