Another main character for my OC story. I can't remember if I ever posted old art of her on here, but this was Neve, now named Neyven. I decided to do key art of her as opposed to a ref sheet for... I don't know actually; I guess it's because I tried to make one for her multiple times in the past and those attempts never really went anywhere? Well either way, it feels good to finally draw her again.
I believe I established before that this story centers around a band. Well, Neyven here is their lead singer, but she isn't exactly the leader of the band. She often has her head in the clouds, part of why she doesn't lead, but that's also because she didn't found the band; Arthrax did. In fact, she was the last one to join the band!
Oh yeah, I tried a new shading style for this piece. My dream for Daemon Days is to make it either an animated series or a virtual band (Think Gorillaz), and this is kinda the art direction I wanna go with for the animation. I got a very long way before I can make any of this a reality, but I wanna at least try.

do you have any daemon ideas for any of your newer characters?
okay mayybe i’m cheating. just a little buT
i have.
supernatural on the brain SO
i’m gonna mention daemon ideas for highly possible yolo/claim.....
sam’s daemon is a trumpeter swan known as elene. as any bird goes? she’s absolutely Huge. her wing span’s larger than sam’s height. and as beautiful as she is, she can be Damn fierce
you really don’t want to have a face a beakful of teeth
but no, typically? she’s actually the most calming influence you can find during a conversation. gentle looking, she tends to settle down beside panicked or grieving daemons as sam gathers information on possible supernatural attacks. as outwardly caring as she is in actions however, she tends to also hint at her and sam’s fear of connecting too heavily with others, especially romantically. she distances herself from other daemons as despite her acting the gentle soul, not daring to interact too heavily with any of them nor touch them. but with sam? as heavy as a four foot tall swan is, she quite happily settles down onto his lap sometimes during his more reflective bouts, with him idly stroking her feathers and her quietly snoozing
So if any of my older followers remember Arthur: He's back and with a new name.
For those who don't know about Arthrax: He was an OC I've had for a while now. I think I last drew him in.... 2019? At least, that's in terms of drawings I posted publicly. It certainly has been a while since he's come up.
Though his design hasn't changed too drastically, his story has: He's now the protagonist of my WIP original story, Daemon Days, a fantasy story about a group of demons who start a rock band. Arthrax himself is the band's guitarist, backup vocalist, and essentially leader. Despite his status as main protagonist, he is a very flawed person who ends up causing a lot of problems for the band.
do you have a daemon for ginny yet? how about something with her and hers if so!
Hands brushing through the growing grass fronds, Ginny closes her eyes, relishing the way the wind picks up all around her. A chirping cry pulls her gaze skywards and it brings with it a smile. Citrabenou - ever the show-off - circles and dives above her in the shape of a hen harrier, red and brown amongst a sea of blue.
His sparks of exhilaration run through her and she laughs, kicking off across the earth with him a blurring arrow above her.
As soon as they reach the broom shed, Citra sweeps down, landing on her shoulder as a little robin. “They’re back at the house,” he murmurs. “The twins won’t know.”
“Good.” She grins. And opens the door, swiftly grabbing hold of one of her older brother’s Cleansweep Five’s.
Giggling, Citra flutters back up into the air. “I’ll race you.”
“You’re on.”
And off Citra goes, flicking back his flowing mane from his new silver equine’s face. Galloping into the distance, the strain on their bonds growing stronger - but Ginny ignores it, instead kicking off into the air on the Cleansweep, urging it to go as fast as it possibly could go.
Perhaps Citra slows down a little, perhaps he doesn’t, but soon it’s no longer a race but the pair of them: one running, one flying, side by side. With Citra every so often flicking at her with his tail - and Ginny idly shoving his side right back.

possible daemon au stuff/concept sketches for brian pasternak:
fancy dumbo masked rat? it has elements then of the city he originated from and they’re a good balance between sociable and a little introverted too. somewhat skittish but can be assertive when they have to be. prefers being in safe places/places that make them comfortable rather than being outside of their comfort zone
a bird? i’ve been pos thinking of types of pigeons or gulls.... maybe an ivory gull? or a rock pigeon? looking into others too.... brian wants his family and himself to have a better life, get out of the elements connected to that of class-g, of the capital and it’s harsh qualities against those of a lower class. it p well ties into the suburban birds or ones with some suburban qualities
“...It means that we get some peace and quiet away from the chaotic mess that’s Villanelle’s mansion for a while.”
Libelle snorted. “More troublesome than our life back at the manor.”
“Mm.” Troublesome, yes. But… it was funny, in it’s way, at how easily that could grow on you. “Hogwarts suffers from that same problem, though.”
“I guess you could call being here a vacation.”
Libelle leapt up onto the bench, curling up on Draco’s lap as a graceful silver fox. Idly, he ran a hand through his fur, watching life pass by along the park’s pathway.
“It’s fairly quiet here,” Libelle remarked, one ear twisting back to catch sounds Draco himself couldn’t hear. “Nice, actually.”
“It’s why I decided we stop off here. It means that we get some peace and quiet away from the chaotic mess that’s Villanelle’s mansion for a while.”
Libelle snorted. “More troublesome than our life back at the manor.”
“Mm.” Troublesome, yes. But… it was funny, in it’s way, at how easily that could grow on you. “Hogwarts suffers from that same problem, though.”
“I guess you could call being here a vacation.”
“What? I wouldn’t call it a vacation, especially when I have to struggle putting up with you showing me up every time I decide on paying Saint Denis’ a visit.”
Libelle turned around to nip gently at his wrist. “If you hated me that much, why do you keep coming back here then?”
Draco frowned down at her lightly. “Because,” he told her, batting at her snout, “Saint Denis has quite an interesting variety of shops here, that’s why.”
She sighed, long and loud, dropping her snout heavily down against his knee. Then, suddenly, she sat up (eliciting an ‘Ow, watch your claws!’ from Draco). Her tail wagging, she hopped down to the floor and skittered away from her previous resting space. Her aforementioned resting space watching her in bemusement.. What’s her problem?
“Mischa!”
“... Oh.” Yeah, he can very much see the problem approaching them now.
The very large - and still not at all intimidating - tiger daemon’s whiskers twitched upwards at the sight of Libelle, his human counterpart a close shadow behind him.
“What a coincidence,” Draco drawled, shoving his hands into his pockets as he followed along after his daemon. “We were just talking about you.”
“Something good, I hope?” Villanelle responded, one side of her lips curling up.
“Nothing good at all!” Libelle barked a laugh, jumping up to nip at Mischa’s tail.
“Like she said.” He couldn’t help raising an eyebrow at his daemon’s odd antics, however. “What’re you doing here anyway?”
“Can’t I simply have a nice day out without it being implied, in some way, that I have to have a reason for it?” Villanelle shook her head slowly, mockingly.
And Libelle twirled away from Mischa’s half-hearted swipe, swiping back at him with a large dark-furred paw as an almost fully-grown panther.
“With you, there seems to be a reason for everything,” Draco retorted, but nontheless, heading over to walk alongside her.
“My true reason was a change in scenery.” Mischa’s tail flicked to the side.
Draco didn’t buy it, and from Libelle’s brief pause to eye them, he noted that she didn’t either. But whatever, he’ll go with that, this kind of banter gets irritating after a while anyway.
“What are you doing out here?”
“For the same reason: a change in scenery.”
“It’s a shame there are less people to bother out here,” Libelle added, shoving Mischa in the side before she trotted on ahead of them.
“I think you bother enough people as it is,” Mischa rumbled cheekily after her.
uhh how about some rezzie characters? idr if you had a hc for leon's yet, but also like claire or ada?
@rorykillmore also asked a similar one to this i’ll go with leon and claire!
hmm immediately im reminded of canines and lupines with leon; an animal that is inherently loyal to those that make up their ‘pack’, whether that be friends or family. but there’s also this element of sharp social perception that he has which reminds me more of a social bird than a canine/lupine
thus the aplomado falcon is the closest matching daemon for what i feel fits. they often co-operate with others of their species, alongside their own mate, to find and hunt down their prey, monitoring each other’s movements on the wing as they do so. they even have specific chirps that an individual will take up to indicate when they should get out hunting
so perceptive and in-tune as they are with one another, it fits socially with how leon acts and thinks, considering others needs and their attitudes through what he learns about or reads from them via their body language and tones. not to mention that, being swift birds of prey, the aplomado falcon also reveals that level of focus and determination he has to see himself through specific tasks
---
having been brought up more or less by her brother alone, claire has learned to be pretty independent. she knows when to rely on others and when to step in and be the one to rely on. and honestly? the ways she works reminds me of an osprey. dutifully caring and dedicated, ospreys often work together to hunt, whether they’re a family or not, as it often has a higher success rate than hunting alone. although this is not always the case, with some preferring to hunt alone
as dedicated fish hunters, ospreys show great efficiency in what they do, swift to pierce their prey and to take it back to their perches or nests, of which is usually built up over time, always remaining in the one that they have worked on from the beginning. which is much the same in how claire focuses on her line of work and hobbies, building herself up to be ready for whatever role she falls into
