One of the things I find interesting about having a Dæmon, is how you and your Dæ navigate the world.
Ruse follows spatial rules, in regards to how she moves through Projected space in reality. If we are walking around a crowded place, as an example, she will move out the way of foot traffic and climb up my arm to rest on my shoulder. She doesn’t have to do this, obviously she’s not bound by the laws of physical reality like me, but this is a choice on her part to feel more integrated in our world.
Projecting her into physical reality can have its rough points, i project her pretty much every moment of the day, so sometimes she has to adapt as I’m moving around. I work in a restaurant, so if I am pre-busing a table or doing some other kind of work, if she wants to be involved, she has to be on my shoulder or somewhere nearby keeping up with me.
This could mean she’s running behind me, running along tables beside me, etc. If she was corporeal, this would be a huge inconvenience. You can’t exactly run across the table when there’s people sitting there. Thankfully, because she’s not corporeal it is a lot easier. And also, sometimes when work gets busy it’s hard to project her so she kind of goes into a neutral position where she merges back into me or she is constantly within one place.
Her two forms right now are a Campbells Dwarf Hamster and a Black Abert Squirrel. So a neutral position is in my pocket in her hamster form, or resting on my shoulder in her squirrel form.
When we are outside on hikes or walks, it’s fun to see her navigate nature. Climbing up trees or digging through the grass. if she was corporeal, I wonder if this would count as trespassing in some places? Which makes me think about how laws would work in HDM world. If you are walking through a neighborhood, and your dæ steps onto someone else’s property, would that count as trespassing for both of you? Something to think about.
Luckily, since she isn’t corporeal, we can break all these laws >:D
Navigating weather is interesting too. If it starts to rain while you were leaving your car, and you get wet, imagining both you and your dæ feeling frustrated about getting wet and trying to dry off is a fun experience.
When we eat food, we like to try to imagine both of us eating the same thing. Like if I am eating say boiled peanuts for example, or a sandwich or what have you, I like to project her eating some of it too. She doesn’t have to eat obviously, but it stands to reason since she’s apart of me she’s tasting what I’m tasting, so why not make it more inclusive for her to be eating beside me?
Please feel free to tell me about your experiences as a Dæmian with your Dæ, I’d love to know more about how others think and experience reality together
