Am I Dying?
Reference Date: 22 May 2014
Headache Day*. It began last night (Wednesday night) around 5 PM. I woke up this morning pretty much unable to do anything at all. Spent the entire day in bed watching movies...lame...gross...horrifying. The Mister had to go through the Street Market for us all by himself. I hate when he has to do that, but he did a great job!
Finally woke up on Friday morning, felt "normal" again but lacked energy. Spent the day surfing the web.
The only thing on which to depend
19 May 2014
I am currently trying to figure out what to do with this online journal, how to change it. I feel slightly bored of the mundane questionnaire, even as I understand its importance to developing my own work habits/consistent creation. No matter, the laconic nature of the entries is nice, albeit dull. The aspects I enjoy most are "Word of the Day," "Life as...," and "thoughts/concerns/anecdotes etc.". Despite this enjoyment I am disenchanted by the idea of writing in-depth thoughts everyday, especially since I feel that my readership read this blog for its very mundane nature.
Feeling grown out of this format, I currently mull over what I want this blog to now be. Thus, I request the patience of my readers as I figure out what I would like to do. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy my photography and quotes blog at FiniteInk!
I would request requests, but that is definitely not what this blogospace intends to do...please its readers. Thus, I will post whence the appropriate new step has been determined. Best!

How'd you sleep last night?
Well enough. It's getting hotter here, fast. I think I slept more comfortably though last night. I woke up around 0600, though, and it's becoming a habit.
What was the first thing you remember upon waking?
I'm hot.
How do you feel physically?
I felt fine throughout the day. After our run though I feel tired. My legs are sore and I feel really worn out. It's awesome!
What the most frustrating thing that happened today?
No frustrations.
And the most uplifting/exciting/in the realm of happiness?
Seeing the Kimchi Lady.
How's your overall demeanor?
I feel proud of myself today for the run that we went on because I ran hard and gave my full effort the whole time. I also read for the whole day, so in general, I am very content.
Did you learn anything today?
As far as the mental strengthening is concerned, I feel like I learned something today. I usually set out for a run in a really optimistic way (which is NOT me by any means), in that I say to myself, "Yes, this is going to be a great run, my time will be faster, I will feel strong and great, and everything will be awesome." As any runner knows, running isn't all that awesome; it's very difficult. So, how I came to that sort of mental habit when setting off on a run is beyond me. Nevertheless, today, I decided that I would accept that I know that our run today is going to be very difficult (The Mister had informed me yesterday that we would be running today, hence my thinking about the run all day today). Thus, I said to myself during the day things like this: "Ugh, the run is totally going to suck. You're not going to be any faster, it's going to be hard, it's going to be hot, you're going to be dripping with sweat, breathing hard the whole uncomfortable time, and yea, it's just going to suck." With a little Stoic mentality, I actually found that the run wasn't as bad as I had been planning for. In fact, it was almost quite nice. I ran hard, fast and with a lot of effort. I was really proud of myself.

struggling for growth or caving to the complacency.
Any other thoughts/concerns/anecdotes/words to live by:
The struggle of life is to grow. We're all fighting to grow, but if growth is not your pursuit, for what are you struggling? There is no other point to this life other than to grow, learn, seek, abscond from the belief that you are enough as you are. Yes, you are capable enough to pursue and do anything, but you as you are should not be "enough" for this life. What if all the plants decided that they were "enough" before they produced the luscious things that they make available for us and others to eat? Why should we then live out our lives as though we've "learned enough," are "grown," and seek complacency before we've even begun to even glimpse what we're truly capable of becoming?
Nothing's in the lazarette
Word of the Day:

Book(s) being read:
Lord of the Rings, The God Delusion
I finished The God Delusion today and checked out two new books, Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer and Rabid: A Cultural History of the World's Most Diabolical Virus by Bill Wasik and Monica Murphy. I'm excited for both new books, but I have to finish the rest of LOTR in about six days before I can start into the new books. I don't think I'll be unable to start them since I'm so excited for them. We will see. I can't decide what book of fiction I should read next once I finish LOTR. I'm on a hold list for a few, but I don't think I'll be next in line within this week.

How'd you sleep last night?
Not well. I was looking forward to sleep since it started to pour down rain as the night grew dark, but it ended up being a really hot, humid and sticky night. I couldn't sleep well because the air was too cold to sleep without a blanket but the blanket was too hot to be under. What frustration.
What was the first thing you remember upon waking?
I didn't sleep!
How do you feel physically?
Fine. My arms are sore, and it's nice.
What the most frustrating thing that happened today?
Not sleeping
And the most uplifting/exciting/in the realm of happiness?
I called my mother this morning for her Mother's Day (since she's roughly sixteen hours behind my timezone) afternoon.
How's your overall demeanor?
Whatever

How'd you sleep last night?
Well enough. I woke up at 6 am almost exactly and then I couldn't fall back asleep. I've decided that when this happens, I'm just going to start getting up and starting my day. Sounds crazy that I haven't done this already, but no one seems to understand my affinity for sleep. Even if it's just laying in bed trying to sleep, I am perfectly happy. Well, unless I actually want to sleep and cannot.
What was the first thing you remember upon waking?
I'm awake
How do you feel physically?
My arms are sore
What the most frustrating thing that happened today?
I didn't allow myself to eat a waffle, cookies and two ice cream sandwiches. Obviously I ate the waffle and one ice cream sandwich, but we were on a budget at the store to spend the last of our cash and so I could not buy two ice cream sandwiches and the waffle and cookies. Ugh.
And the most uplifting/exciting/in the realm of happiness?
The Mister knows. Snuggling and cuddling randomly throughout the day.
How's your overall demeanor?
Better than the past two cranky days. I was pretty much sauced up after 3 PM so life was good.

My right butt cheek feels like it was clenched all night while I was sleeping or something, it's so sore. The Mister rubbed it for me a bit today.

How'd you sleep last night?
Not well. I've been having a hard time falling asleep. Once I do, though, I seem to stay asleep, but getting to sleep has been tough lately. I'm tired at night and I'm not tossing or uncomfortable. It's odd, mildly frustrating.
What was the first thing you remember upon waking?
That was a weird dream
How do you feel physically?
Good
What the most frustrating thing that happened today?
Reading The God Delusion is making me very angry, not at the writer, but rather about the truths that he is making so plain and how I absolutely agree with them. Religion is a force more dangerous than terrorism.
And the most uplifting/exciting/in the realm of happiness?
Eating chocolate
How's your overall demeanor?
Cranky

"If there were a strong correlation between Christian conservatism and societal health, we might expect to see some sign of it in red-state America. We don't. Of the twenty-five cities with the lowest rates of violent crime, 62 percent are in 'blue' [Democrat] states, and 38 percent are in 'red' [Republican] states. Of the twenty-five most dangerous cities, 76 percent are in red states, and 24 percent are in blue states. In fact, three of the five most dangerous cities in the U.S. are in the pious state of Texas."
- Sam Harris as quoted by Richard Dawkins in The God Delusion (Kindle Paperwhite loc 3553).
