Sev doing dad things:

-This man sneezes ridiculously loud. It is written in the creed of dads that he must.

-Also that armchair that he sits in in the living room. That’s his. Only his. That’s dads armchair. Nobody sits in dads armchair. Also typical dad moments of dozing off in said chair when he finds himself sitting and reading there in the evenings. Also has a very worn but comfy oversized throw pillow that is sat on the left side of it for him to lean on. (for when he falls asleep by the fire)

It was almost 10 after 9, second periods were just about to get to an end as Severus was walking around the halls with his four year old daughter. Severus was set with the task of getting his youngest ready for the day for her mama had and early class with the 4th years. Sa’diyas hand in her fathers as she wore a happy grin and skiped next to her gloomy father, “How come I have to go to Mommy now?” she asked.

“Because i have a Class of my own with first years i’m sure your mother will enjoy your company..” he spoke.

Her dark eyes looked up to him, “Do you think she’ll like my hair?”

Severus looks down at his daughters hair that felt like took ages. To be honest he was just starting to get confident doing his girls hair, but for the first time he smiles a little looking at the two parted braids going down the back of her head into two small puffs, two green bows decorating them. “perhaps.. I think she will.” he said picking her up quickly.

The pair soon entered her class room, the sunlight peeking thought the green house like top, His eyes found his wife her long braids curly strands decorating them, her hair was put back out of her face a few hanging infringe of her shoulders. Her yellow satin robes enbroided with vine and flower like designs glistening in the early morning sun. Soon her attention made its way twords the door where her students gazes fell, The earthology teacher turning on her heels her hands places under her swollen belly.

“Ah professor Snape! Seems you’ve brought me a visitor.” she Smiled up at her husband.

“Well Mrs. Maverick, I have a class of first years next period and i can’t have your daughter running wild.” he spoke putting Sa’diya down. The little girl grinning wide, she watched as her mothers eyes shifted to hers.

“You can tell daddy got your ready today hm..” she giggled holding out her arms the toddler leaving her father side going to her mother.

Severus raised a brow at the statement, to be fair he did but it was obvious when his daughter was head to toe in his house colors. The little girl wearing a white blouse with a Green sweater over it, a gray skirt black tights underneath, cute white socks and black mary jane’s with bows on the clips. Not to mention the two dark green bows that were placed on top of her pigtails.

“He did and he did my hair!” ‘Diya said her small voice excited as she was held by her mother, her little hands gently touching her head.

Snape watched his wife grin widely “He did, did he. And he did such a good job.” She spoke kissing her daughter’s face.

The professors had basically forgotten about the class of 4th years around them. Everyone knew they were married well especially after she had a small difficulty with her pregnancy during class and she asked for him, to be honest the two were never secret with it but that one little moment where ache called for him as she held her stomach just proved a point.

“You did great Sev..” she hummed.

“there’s no need for you to hold her she can stand.” Severus spoke urging his pregnant wife to put down their 4 year old.

“She is just fine I’ll hold my baby if i feel like it!” she huffed popping her hip out sifting the toddler away from her father.

Severus only gave her a look, “Don’t over do it.”

“Don’t worry Dad she’ll be fine.” the voice of his oldest shifted his gaze.

Zhuri her normally serious face giving him a reassuring smile. If there was one thing Severus was always grateful for with his girls if that they got their beauty and reassurance from their mother. “How come you never did my hair that well when i was a babe?” she spoke making a snarky comment at her dad.

“I didn’t have the skill at the time..” he muttered towards the Slytherin. She only hummed, her words mouthing to her younger sister ‘I’m still the Favorite’

Only for Sa’diya to stick her tongue out at her older sister. “Enough,”

Snape soon realized the classes attention was on them “Back to it!” he spoke quickly the students all shifting in their seats.

Professor Maverick only shook her head as she put her daughter down. The younge girl putting her hands on her hips sassily “Hey! you be nice to them! we’re causing a ruckus not them.” She said.

Severus raised a brow at his daughters attitude his gaze meeting his wife’s who let out a small giggle. “You Need to apologize.” Diya huffed crossing her arms her lips pouted.

“You heard her.” Zhuri said a small grin on her face knowing he was getting bosses around by a toddler.

“She is your daughter.” Snape said glaring at his wife who had her arms crossed aswell.

“you only say that when she has an attitude as if you don’t either.” she scoffed with a laugh.

Severus rolled his eyes looking down at his daughter “I won’t do such a thing the need to mind their own.”

With a poor attempt to roll her eyes Sa’diya damanded her father apologize for yelling at the class. Soon enough to save himself from the embarrassment of his sassy child he did. Earning a nod from her of approval.

“Don’t you have somewhere to be soon professor?” Y/n asked walking up to him tucking a piece of hair behind his ear her hand holding his face for a moment.

“As a matter of a fact I do, Unfortunatly.” he hummed.

she smiled at him holding the little girl close to him, he held her face giving her a kiss on the forehead “Bye bye Daddy see you at dinner!” she waved.

It would sure make him mushy inside.

And he wouldn't know how to process it.

And for a few days he'd have this little beam of light in his chest, warming him up.

- More months pass as the school year progresses and she continues to excel in her studies. Not much changes about the other students and their views of her, but she's learned to tune them out to the best of he abilities. only a few more years and she'll be graduated, able to go back to France and be happy again. Right? - Her and Sev made it a habit to have regular check-ins, whether it be to just sit and talk or to gossip about how awful the students could be at times. Lord knew they both understood all too well. - Around the time that she started feeling content with focusing on her school work and hoping for a brighter future, Draco and his friends start to take interest in her, not in the way the other kids had, but genuine interest. Like they wanted to get to know her. - It started with innocent chats in the Great Hall during lunch, or asking her to meet them in the library to study for upcoming tests. Again, nothing suspicious or incriminating, just some small talk or productive partner work.

- Sev only took notice of it when he paired partners during a potions lesson one day and paired Draco and his usual group with an extra person. “Sir, could we possibly have a different person? We don’t work very well with this… numpty.” Draco would raise his hand and immediately get a response from professor Snape. “Who do you suppose you’d work better with?” “Y/N.” (Idk if I should use Ava’s name or just make this an insert so y/n it is for now😭) Snape’s face would scrunch in confusion when he hears Malfoy utter his daughter’s name. Even more so her first name. When the hell did they get on a first name basis? He’d think to himself. He’d will the thoughts and questions away and simply nod his head and motion for y/n and the old partner to swap places.“you best not distract her, Malfoy. If her grades slip, yours will follow.”

- The class period runs smoothly, absolutely no issues came from the group of Slytherins and their newest friend, they actually got quite a lot done in such a short amount of time. Snape dismisses the class but before the group exits, they invite her to sit with them at dinner (all while Pansy gave them glares and disapproving looks). She graciously accepted even though on the inside, she was ecstatic.

- Real friends. She thinks to herself as she walks to her next class. She can hardly focus on her class and has a lot of stuff to do before dinner because of it. But she doesn’t care, she’s simply happy, for the first time since she arrived at Hogwarts, to have company.

- Snape would eye them carefully from the staff table when he sees where and who his daughter’s sitting with. To be clear, he’s happy she’s making friends, but did it have to be with Malfoy and his clan?

- after dinner, she’d leave the great hall with a smile on her face and she’s quickly make her way to her dad’s office to tell him about her day. She could finally tell him that she had a good day. A day where the teasing was at a minimum and one where her eyes weren’t constantly scanning the Gryffindor table.

- She rambled to him about for almost an hour, her eyes lit up and she couldn’t keep the smile off her lips. Snape wasn’t complaining, he was happy for her. Not necessarily happy about who she made friends with, but he was happy she had people.

(I’m just gonna rapid fire headcanons bc I’m ridiculous and this has taken me wayyyyy longer than it needs to… I kinda forgot this existed😬)

- she spends most of her time with her new friends, making sure to balance her studies and use her time wisely. She really does just want to make her dad proud.

- by the time the Triwizard Tournament tasks really amp up, she’s stressed. She doesn’t do well with change, the schedule shifts make it hard for her to concentrate.

- good thing her new friends are here to help her, right?😉

- as much as she keeps them in line, they’ve taken to doing the same for her. Snape is surprised by that.

- by the time the last task is done and over with, the death of Cedric Diggory, the official return of the Dark Lord, and the discovery of their professor being an ex convict, she gets curious. AS DO HER SLYTHERIN FRIENDS!

- after leaving for summer break, she brings it up to her dad all of once, getting shut down and immediately when she mentions wanting to read up on dark magic. Sev knows all too well the spiraling rabbit hole dark magic can be and he never wants his daughter to follow in his footsteps like that.

- BUT… her friends’ parents don’t necessarily share the same views as Severus does. (They also may or may not be very good influences either…)

Severus Snape & Zhuri Snape

“Theres no need to make a big deal about it.”

Severus stopped turning to look at his daughter. Her dark eyes pleading not to make a scene of the situation.

“Remind me what professor Harlem said to you about your out of school clothing.” He said.

Zhuri looked away not because she was embarrassed but for the fact she let the man practically shame her for the body she grew into over the summer. She was 15 a developing young woman that quickly grew into her curves over the summer.

“That I was distracting, that what i was wearing was inappropriate..” she spoke annoyed her eyes looking away from her father.

“And what are you wearing.” His voice was softened. What Harlem said bothered the girl it made him crawl in his skin knowing a grown Man was letting his eyes wonder on her. His daughter a child.

“A long sleeve thats slightly tighter than most and some low rises.” She answered, The shirt only came up a little showing the width of two finger together but nothing more the jeans where you normal low rises with rhinestone pockets. “Thats why i don’t understand what his problem is im wearing what I normally would on a day off around here for christ sake!” She exclaimed, her hands hitting here sides in frustration.

“Exactly there is nothing wrong with what you’re wearing and him telling you that you’re distracting, disgust me. It shouldn’t be a bother to him for he is a grown man.” Severus spoke to his daughter, she new what he meant the new professor had been gazing at her in an inappropriate matter and telling her that it was her fault.

“I just don’t want to make a big deal out of it hes just some creep that needs to be removed from the school.” Zhuri said her voice filled with irritation, not because of her father wanting to go talk to the man but for the fact she let it happen her self. How the middle aged man blamed her for his inappropriate behavior.

“Exactly, and he will be. Now return to your dormitory i will deal with it from here.” He said reassuring Zhuri. She nodded turning around to walk back down ti the dungeon back to Slytherin dormitory. It hurt him watching how she crossed her arms around her body in a shameful matter hiding herself, as if she had to be ashamed of something she has no control over.

“Professor Harlem a word.” Severus voice spoke darkly as he entered the room.
