The Unnatural: While working in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, a young cop, Arthur Dales (the brother of the Arthur Dales who started the X-Files) stumbles across Josh Exley, a black baseball player who is actually an alien with a love of the game hiding among humans.

D.P.O: Mulder is skeptical over a coroner's report regarding the fifth person to be struck by lightning in a small Oklahoma town. Their investigation into the latest death seems to point to the only person to have survived a lightning strike, an emotionally charged youth.

D.P.O is such an underrated episode. It’s where the X Files really realized it could get arty. Plus it’s got young Jack Black and Giovanni Ribisi (who happen to play really well off each other) as two small town slackers who may be more powerful than they fully realize. And honestly, what more could you want out of an episode?

#it just doesn’t get talked about enough #maybe that’s because it’s right before Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose #which btw is another one of my favorites so that’s not a complaint #but I mean look at the cinematography!#X Files #D.P.O #and the acting is fantastic too #but so many of the shots in this episode are gorgeous #and the fact that it was mostly practical effects too like
