Honestly? ... honestly?????

In the kind of silly kitchen sink fantasy setting I use when I'm not doing scifi stuff with Cygna, she's exes with Carmine, a woman who runs an adventuring guild out of her beloved airship. She'll take in just about anyone in the short-term as long as they seem well-meaning, and she'll keep anyone on long-term as long as they're willing to pitch in at least a little.

So Cygna would, of course, drag a wild-eyed, freshly-isekai'd Remy to her doorstep like "Carmine! I have another one for you! But he's even weirder than usual?"

Carmine would be utterly fascinated at the concept of other worlds and Remy's terrible descriptions of modern technology (which he is Not good with) and incredibly jazzed to have him on board, but...

Then he'd be his normal, miserable self, because being isekai'd doesn't make you any less depressed or vampiric, and adventure is the last thing Remy wants. Carmine is like, "Please, Cygna, please! You understand this stuff! You know I don't speak gloomy, irritable stick in the mud!!!"

("No wonder I broke up with you...")

No idea where this would go other than vampire-elf sex and the ensuing brief, awkward, tumultuous relationship that only lasts as long as it does because he's so pathetic and infatuated that Cygna can't figure out how to break up with him. 👍

So, like, even if I were delirious enough to write such an incredibly "for me and only for me" story, I think... it might be better to hold off until I think of a way for at least one of them to be happy, lol...

(Carmine notwithstanding. Her mood is unkillable in the longterm. Her groove cannot be harshed.

But I don't currently have any girls to write about her fucking except for Cygna, which is not exactly going to be less of a downer because they are simply not compatible, and Cygna doesn't really do sex outside of relationships, lol. So this is another thing the concept is lacking...

I've also yet to figure out if Carmine is bi yet, but she has a strong female preference if she is, and Remy is, uh. He's not the guy to clear her theoretical bar, that's for sure. So probably no fun threesomes with Cygna stuck between her ex and soon-to-be ex, I fear. 😔 Carmine will continue to be annoyingly friendly to Remy, though.

And thinking about him in the kind of casual high fantasy or scifi fantasy I generally go with for Cygna is really funny because, like, being a history nerd is part of his whole deal. He's generally (when employed) a curator or archivist who writes history texts on the side, and this is like, his hyperfocus of hyperfoci.

So like. Sees a hot elf.

Remy: *twirling a finger in his hair* How old are you?

Cygna:

Cygna: 164? Are you always this blunt??

Remy: Oh...

Remy: Hm.

Remy: That's not that old.

Cygna:

Upon finding out her parents oversee an ancient arcane library...

Remy: *vibrating* Can I meet them?? Will you introduce me?????

Cygna: Wait. Wait. Wait. You were trying to pick me up, were you not?

Cygna:

Cygna: You are NOT seducing my mother.

Remy: *visibly offended* OR your father.

I think you could probably get her flustered with it, though. She might argue, but she does kind of want someone who can tell when her prickliness is just empty grumbling. She's one of my more tsun characters for sure............. she's very self-sufficient and complains a lot about being dragged along on adventures, but she'll proactively bust her ass off for anything and anyone once she's decided to involve herself.

I'm not really interested in trying to modern world AU her, but she'd be hilarious with Remy (a thought that occurs to me because they're simultaneously similar and very different). Kinda toxic, lots of angry sex, like two pieces of sandpaper rubbing against each other. He'd be Super Codependently In Love and she'd just be Wearily, Grudgingly Attached and Unsure How to Disengage. They would break up so hard, but she'd probably still bail him out of shit.
