But Ben quoting the poem gave Beverly the courage to fight on and save them both
So…what would you say if I told you that’s literally Mike Will El love triangle (even tho it’s not a triangle but I digress). Mike is only (probably) still together with El because of the painting lie. Mike believes that it’s El who sees all the things in him, that he wants people to see. He thinks it’s El who commissioned the painting. But it was always Wills words. Wills words that gave Mike the courage to fight on and to be the leader he wants to be. Will is making Mike feel loved. Not El. (Just like Ben is making Beverly feel loved)
The painting will be brought up again obviously, and I do believe that Mike already is in love with Will (just like Beverly loved Ben), but the painting will be the key to making them canon. That’s what I believe.
