I'm literally pro mage and free the mages all allat but he was literally tortured by blood mages for days if not weeks. He had every right to think the way he did, and he was a big enough person to GROW OUT OF HIS HATRED. He had a redemption arc

Most of it was just off screen. His redemption was staying behind to clean up the entirety of the Kirkwall mess, and being a fair knight commander to his Circle after the events of DA2. Even in DA2 his biggest crime was passivity.

But he literally began his redemption arc by finally growing some hair on his balls and telling Meredith no.

He was traumatized and groomed, and tbh he never did anything completely unjustifiable. He never went and sexually assaulted any mages like some people imply, he never beat on them or even really interacted with them outside of what was necessary. If anything, he was one of the better Templars at Kirkwall because he didn't mistreat the mages. His private thoughts and what he said to Hawke were not in the presence of the mages.

What really tickles me is people who are blackwall meat riders who say that blackwall had a better redemption arc

The nigga literally stole someone else's identity and ran away from his problems. And I don't even dislike blackwall, I just think it's hypocritical to say that blackwalls redemption arc was better than Cullen's.
