a few shopkeeper edits and custom sprites for the binding of isaac mod "even more shopkeepers"!!!! because there is no better way to show your appreciation for something than to draw it over a corpse that's being hung. as usual in these isaac sprite mods that are just a compilation of things i like, there are a lot of tags so enjoy that i guess!!

Everything Is Crab is probably the closest we’re ever gonna get to a Cubivore remake, isn’t it?
look, I have nothing against Minecraft as a game (it’s not my jam but I wish it no ill), but it does grate on me that the fact that it’s as popular and omnipresent as it is means that we’ll never, ever get a proper Cubivore remake, since the public would perceive it as being a Minecraft ripoff despite Cubivore being way older (and having basically no gameplay elements in common, just superficially similar art styles)
like, I’m not gonna say Cubivore wasn’t deeply flawed. I don’t think I ever finished it. The controls were not great, and although I love how weird it is, there were points where the weirdness felt performative rather than sincere (but still kinda at the cost of some of, idk, the overall quality, sorta kinda). But I still think it’s a very *cool* game and I’d really like to see what a more modern take on it (maybe with some improvements to the controls and the overall UX) would look like, but I know it my heart we never will.
Of course, like I said up top, Everything Is Crab has some shared energy with it. They’re not the same, but they’ve got a little bit of overlap. I’m not going to say that one definitely inspired the other (Cubivore is insanely niche and also old, and it’s not like “you’re an animal trying to survive and you evolve/mutate as you go” is an idea that could only have arisen once, so PROBABLY the EIC devs weren’t necessarily big Cubivore stans), but i can still see the similarity even if I think that’s likely a coincidence. Everything Is Crab is fun. Go play Everything Is Crab.
