Crystal control test 1. I honestly didn’t expect this to work with such a small adjustment. I adjusted the hold temperature down by 2 degrees, and presto! Full bloom formations instead of “sparks”. This pot came out the kiln today! The glaze is one of my favourites and finally behaved more like I wished it would. I only think it was almost too hot because of the spots. But maybe 10 degrees lower? I fired it at 1250°C, Crystalline green on glazy.org on a blue stoneware clay from Sibelco. I think I gotta play with temperatures here 🤔 any advice on hoe to grow these crystals or any other advice? Here is a sample of a cone 6 crystalline glaze...which I soaked overnight in acid. See how it effects the colors as leaches metallic oxides from the glaze.
