Don't think about cryptid hybrid reader that doesn't know how to cope with Johnny's death. You understand death. You've seen it before. The team even allowed you to look at his body before he was cremated, so you wouldn't wonder when he would be back. You still aren't sure how to grieve.
You mimic his voice at night, away from the others when everyone is asleep. You made the mistake of doing it around Simon and he screamed at you. He apologized later. Grief can make humans angry.
But you aren't human.
You cry sometimes. You aren't sure what the feeling is. It's never happened before. But you feel better when you mimic his voice. You don't want to forget what he sounds like. You already have a hard time remembering his face without pictures.
"You did good, Bonnie." Johnny whimpers from your lips; with the darkness of the night being your only company.
You had always been a creature of the darkness. Unironically.
Fur as black as the darkness you were hiding in with only a pair of sparkling red eyes to stand out between the trees and scare away Robloxians.
And yet there was one child that couldn't stop running to you everytime he noticed your eyes peering out from within the shadows of the trees... C00lkidd.
It made sense in all honesty. Your eyes matched his skin colour so he was likely fascinated with your similarities. It was only logical as you started to learn more about him and would watch him run to his father, who seemed not to notice you between the trees luckily. He likely chalked his child's stories of you up to an imaginary friend, not knowing just how wrong he was.
Sometimes you found yourself telling him of being the only one like yourself, which would cause him to respond with sameness. Your rough tone didn't seem to get even the slightest reaction in the kid. He never cared how you sounded but did note when you seemed sad or angry, even trying to cheer you up however he could. It was rather sweet and got a low grumble akin to purring to escape from your body. It felt less lonely to have the company of a child.
But when 007n7 finally came near, you made sure to appear small in the shadows. He was... Surprised... Although you did voice your opinions in honesty. You had no clue of taking care of a little one and found it commendable that he was willing to take on such a responsibility.
To say he was curious about you was an understatement but he didn't wish to push your boundaries so he would only ever ask about things you seemed to even vaguely remember about yourself and wether you remembered a time where you weren't the only cryptid at least. He was a bit saddened to hear you were the only one for as long as you could remember but you were satisfied enough with hunting and surviving that you didn't give it much thought.
"[Reader]! We got food!" C00lkidd shouted at your usual meeting spot, waking you up from a nap as you let out a low growl before your eyes shone down on him and 007. You've grown quite affectionate towards the two and decided today was your day to shine as you smelled the food they brought along.
"It smells... Tasty..." You muttered in fascination, poking your head out just enough to where your fluffy face was was able to be seen clearly. The pair couldn't help but chuckle at the way you looked like a cat being lured out of hiding. "Yeah, I'm not a good cook so I figured we'd get you something for today." 7n7's words surprised you. Was today something special?
Noticing your confused head tilt, C00lkidd was practically jumping with joy. "It's been officially a year since we met!" You nearly jolted back in shock. Has it really been that long? Time was something you never had a real grasp on but it would make sense... It felt like you had known them much longer though... How ironic.
"C00lkidd wanted to celebrate so maybe you'd like something that was probably healthier than raw meat..." 007 was obviously trying not to offend you and was glad when he finally saw your face contort into a bright smile. It was so much better than only having a pair of eyes scrunching upwards to tell you were making a face at all...
But taking your first bite, you nearly lunged out of your usual hiding spot for more. "I always thought your strange combinations were nothing more than a filling treat but this is the tastiest thing I've ever had!" You exclaimed in fascination, creeping out of the shadows slowly but surely as C00lkidd slyly held the food further and further away from you.
You didn't really mind it, although 007 nearly choked when he finally saw your full form.
Two giant cat-like ears were poking out of your head, your neck was crowned with a collar of fur, your paws were huge and adorned with rough and deadly claws and you had three whole sets of tails all moving about as if they had their own minds... You towered over any average robloxian with ease...
It was just then that he was really glad you liked them. Who knew what you would do if you didn't...
But there was a certain charm to it that he couldn't quite place. You were gentle and affectionate and his kid liked you so maybe that was it?
Yeah, it had to be that...
He hadn't even noticed he was spaced out until he felt your clawed paw nudge his arm ever so slightly. You were being careful not to accidentally scratch him but you wanted to offer him some food as well and he took it with a gentle smile that made your purring grow a bit louder. He wasn't entirely sure if it was because of him or C00lkidd though as your head returned to listen to the child currently rambling over Dracobloxxers.
You enjoyed their company and that was a first for the ex-hacker. Even if you were a Cryptid, your trust in them meant they also had someone who can jump in and help if there was ever trouble. 007n7 couldn't be more glad over the idea that there was someone who liked him and C00lkidd.
Hell- you were even teaching the kid for crying out loud!
It may not be anything too big but at least you taught C00lkidd to behave a bit and that was already much further than most people were willing to go. Your pained grumbles seemed to register in his mind too and he knew to stop immediately when it came out.
"You're smarter than they give you credit for, kid." You praised him, nuzzling his face a bit with your nose which made him giggle. It was an affectionate gesture but you didn't have to tell 007 that it was because you almost viewed the kid like your own. "No doubt it's from your father." You chuckled, watching the man's face flush a bit out of the corner of your eye as your tails swayed around themselves in a happy motion.
Maybe you could have a family. One that was all your own.
And you'd make sure to protect them from any danger that might seek them out, wouldn't you?

Toby dropped his waffle as he tripped over air to chase after the shiftling. Not that it was much of a chase with her injuries. Gently, he wrapped her right arm around his shoulders and lightly gripped her left hip from behind, lifting her just enough to take some weight off her leg. A muffled growl from her throat had been choked down. It wasnât Tobyâs fault she was hurt. Though she squirmed at being touched, he didnât deserve to be bitten for trying to help. She allowed him to engulf her in the scent of batter and sugar. To her surprise, he was much stronger than he looked. Together, they made it down the never-ending hall along with the infirmary steps, giving her breaks as needed. Iâll have to pay him back; his actions went against the psychological nature sheâd been conditioned for.Â
The color drained from her skin along with the remnants of her energy. Another pair of arms guided her towards an exam table as Toby carried her limp weight. Honey, Annâs scent made her nose crinkle. The sweetness of Toby and Ann together is an overload of stimulation on her olfactory receptors. Nauseating her unintentionally as sweat started beading on her forehead. With the little strength she had left, she restrained the need to impale Tobyâs shoulder with her claws as she tried to keep herself upright.Â
Annâs instructions to Toby sounded to (Y/n) as if she were underwater. Her vision blurred, flashing white as they lifted her onto the flat metal surface. Ringing filled her ears, blocking out the muffled voices. Shadows darted in and out of her ceiling view. She couldnât say for sure when she closed her eyes if this had been a good life or if her worth had been proven. What she did know was that a nap would be perfect.Â
Nurse Ann assigned Toby several tasks within his nonexistent medical abilities as she inserted an IV in the girl and injected sedatives. Applying pressure where needed until Dr. Smiley arrived with Cody in tow. Ann was grateful for Tobyâs assistance but was overjoyed to send him back upstairs. The heart monitor kept its steady, slow rhythm, as if tormenting the three left to work. Carefully, Dr. Smiley and Ann took detailed notes of the bone brace that encased her leg. Two femurs, similar in size, were wrapped tightly in a grotesquely colored bandage. One bone was placed on each side of her crushed ankle for much-needed support running up to her mid-thigh. Under the bandage, they found the source of the problem. Necrotic tissues oozed from the mutilated limb. Astonished, for lack of a better word, was as close as the human vocabulary could come to how the three felt.Â
Scissors snipped away at her pants, removing every obstacle. Pink inflammation covered the surface of her right thigh and foot, kissing the dying fibers above her knee and below her ankle. Bruising formed a jagged diagonal line from the inside of her knee to her outer hip. Compared to the pulverized clump of bone and flesh that was her lower leg, above the knee could be prioritized last. Dr. Smiley ensured pictures were taken for documentation before removing sterile tools and cutting into her.Â
Cody collected samples from the necrotic leg, the areas on her waist where the penetrations went deep, and finally from areas that were completely untouched. Ann documented how the incisions made by Cody healed instantly, with the skin remaining undamaged. He gave them an estimated timeline of how long the testing might take and bounced back up the steps. On his way up, he had to dodge Jack, who had just returned from his mission. The sound of the heart monitor decreased its pace, steadying itself as he entered.Â
On the table, a small tray collected bits and pieces of debris. Jack replaced his black gloves with the blue latex after cleaning his hands. Dr. Smiley continued his work, and Nurse Ann gave a full report to Jack. His demeanor shifted at the mention of Tobyâs name and how Smiley, on necessary procedure, cut off and removed pieces of (Y/n)âs clothing. Ann rolled her eyes at the masked man, as if he wouldnât have done the same. Under the surgical mask, Jack caught the slight hitch in Smileyâs breath as the forceps in his hand twisted.Â
âAnn, note there is a large object lodged in the necrotic shin,â Smiley muttered just loud enough for her to add it to the girls' chart. Without lifting his gaze, âJack, staring is not going to make this go faster.â With another pull, the lodged object was freed. A grinding sound whispered in Jackâs ear, inaudible to the others. The bruising and inflammation on (Y/n)âs thigh were goneâher femur had fused back together. Under the surgical light, held tightly in Smileyâs forceps, a yellow splintered tooth had been stuck in the clump of flesh. Its body is equal in measurement to Jackâs index finger. Ann documented the physical change of the girl's thigh upon the extraction at Jackâs request.Â
Smiley did his best to maneuver her leg carefully, but when a strained whimper came from the unconscious shiftling, Jack stepped in. Ann protested when Jack dismissed her and Smiley, but the young doctor insisted on finishing the extraction in solitude. Rolling up the sleeves of his shirt, he flexed the muscles in his forearms as he readjusted the injured leg. Distilled water rinsed through every crevice, removing whatever toxin was left over. The muscles and fibers slowly grew lighter in colorâregenerative cells fighting at the speed of molasses against necrosis. Healing nonetheless.
Jack removed the bone fragments one by one in silence. Fifteen more, totaling what Smiley pulled out, made 42 pieces overall. When it came time to stitch her leg, he took his time. Gently angling her leg as if heâd break her on accident.Â
Despite himself, he listened to the things she murmured in sleep. It was a soft, trembling voiceâsmall and broken. It enticed him more than heâd expected. The sleepy little voice just barely grazes the silence. Another strained whimper as the needle entered the heart of the wound caused Jack to stop completely. Steady hands frozen the way a predator stalks its prey, he watched. Waiting to hear her breathing return to normal. Neatly, he finished the stitches and cut the thread.Â
He trashed the gloves for a new pair before cleaning up the wound. The IV came out smoothly, the vein underneath repairing itself. She looked drained of life even in sleep. The wounds on her waist, from what he assumed were claw marks, began to reconstruct the punctured areas. Once fully examined, he trashed the gloves for good, giving his hands a chance to breathe.Â
The shiftling's eyes fluttered open groggily. Her head was foggy. She registered the room⌠then Jack. And his hands. The skin on them was ash-gray. His fingernails were sharp, blackened claws. Antibacterial soap wafted to her nose. Â
Why had he hidden this from her before?
She watched as he sat down on a stool she hadnât noticed and resumed wiping her wound. When his back was to her, she reached outâgently touching his hand. He froze. She brought his hand closer to her face, curious. Unintentionally dragging the rest of Jack with it. Her claws emerged, unbidden. Slowly, cautiously, she rubbed her thumb along his clawâthen hers.
Their hands were almost identical. Her claws were longer, designed to tear. His were thinner, preciseâmeant for piercing. His palm was rough under her touch. The back of his hand was soft. She traced his veins, his tendons. His body was made of secrets sheâd like to discover.Â
Her eyes flicked up to his mask. She quickly looked away, cheeks warm. Placing his hand back where she had retrieved it.
âI donât like mine,â she whispered. A frown tugged at her lips. âBut I like yours.â
She flipped her hands, palms facing upward. Then glanced back at his hand still resting on her thigh.
âWhy do you hide your skin?â
He didnât answer. Just watched her from behind the mask. That was enough. He quietly finished his work, then checked the healing wound on her arm. When he was done, he let her leave without another word. Â
----------
Stairs were now her mortal enemy. Frowning, with crossed arms and her nose scrunched, realizing that there was at least forty. All she wanted was to make it to her room. Sheâd managed to make it up the infirmary steps, but not without mild embarrassment. Using her left leg and both hands, the shiftling hobbled up by redistributing her weight on all three. Jack was no help, cleaning up the area without a second glance towards her. She could feel him laughing at her under his mask.Â
Her body still ached, but she was healing. Slowly. It would take much longer than normal; an injury from her own kind could be as detrimental as losing her head. Not only did she face the obstacle of getting her room. She couldnât call for help, not that she would anyway. Now it was hopes and prayers to whatever gods ruled the universe that she wouldnât be caught repeating the motions she used before.Â
Clockwork and Jane tackled her with hugs before she even reached the top of the stairs. Natalie mistakenly inhaled too deeply, gagging on the combination of antiseptic, body odor, and idonine. The younger girls' matted hair tangled with the other girls' hair and arms. Affection of any kind made the shiftling perturbed, an aching need to scrub the skin off and boil it. Jane and Natalie brought on the sense of safety, a foreign home made of arms, a sensation that became uncomfortable in its own right. Her thoughts were setting sail again, drifting towards another, a girl left behind- she pulled that boat of thoughts back to shore.Â
âOh my god, you smell worse than Jeff,â Natalie groaned, plucking a leaf out of the girl's hair before handing it to her, an awkward smile warming the tension around them. The heater kicked on, humming its vibrations through the mansion. Sleep threatened to take the shiftling, eyes heavy enough to break diamonds. âBut Iâm glad youâre not dead.â
âNatalie, she was in the woods for four days. Sheâs allowed to smell,â Jane defended, holding her nose all the same. (Y/n) understood, too exhausted and entranced in her thoughts to care or even process the world around her. âBut Iâm glad you didnât die!â
She smiled, grateful for their warmthâeven if her stomach churned a little from the affection. Before she reached her room, Jeffâs door flew open. Some days, she'd rather deal with the rake than whatever dumbassery would spew from Jeff's mouth. With a deep, exaggerated inhale, she braced herself.Â
"Youâre still alive? Huh." He paused, faux confusion on his face as if he was really in thought about her existence. As if he could pull together a cohesive thought, Natalie would've said. "I thought youâd be long gone after that. Well, freak, Iâll see you later.â
Without thinking, she snapped, âIâm not a freak.â Jeff paused, processing the reaction he received as if it might be detrimental to one of their health.
âI like you, freak.â Scratchy laughter echoed as he bounced down the steps. She grinned despite herself. Her room was untouched. Phone blinking and buzzing with over a hundred messagesâBEN had apparently added her to a group chat. She ignored it for now. A hot shower called to in the way a lover's seduction would.
She stripped off the bloodied clothes and sat on the tile, exhausted. Once sheâd finally made it into the water, she scrubbed until her skin ached and her scalp stung. Every inch of her body was pink. But clean. When she stepped out, the mirror reflected the scarsâfaint white speckles, a map of survival.
Cotton hugged her comfortably, engulfing her in its serenity. Sweat pants and a t-shirt that would be covered by a hoodie were a small slice of life she never imagined could exist, much less be an option for her. She was almost dressed when the voice returned.
Come to me.
She wanted to eat. But her body moved on its own, hood up, hair damp. Limping towards another set of steps. Kill me now, she groaned internally. Crawling up the steps was becoming a fluid motion. An embarrassing death to her ego, but a fluid motion nonetheless.
Knock.
The door swung open, and Masky stepped aside to let her in. His mask firmly in place, an unreadable emotion in his eyes. An emotion that held a scent she wasn't familiar with. The Operator waited in silence, and Toby and Hoodie stood off to the side as if waiting for directions to be given.Â
You may be dismissed. Sit.
The three men moved stealthily out the door she'd come through, their shoes clobbering loudly down the steps once they were out of sight. The humming static made her ears pop. Her headache returned, as if Proteus was testing her ability to recover from a brain aneurysm again.
My Proxies have informed me that you passed your test without instruction.
She nodded, unsure of herself. Passing wasn't the word she would have used for what occurred in the woods.Â
Is there something you wish to disclose? You will not get the chance again.
She hesitatedâthen confessed. Every gruesome detail she retold explicitly. The entire retelling cost fifteen minutes of her life. A numbing feeling set in, easing the migraine. Eyes never leaving the floor, his voice brought no comfort to her soul.Â
She nodded again. Time moved slowly while his words went in one ear and out the other.Â
You are free to leave.
She left quickly, trying not to limp too obviously. The smell of food called to her as she took a seat on the top step and slid all the way back down to the second floor. She could've been mistaken for a toddler the way she giggled as her butt bounced down the steps. Tears swelled in glee until she made it down to the first floor.Â
----------
It was pizza nightâBENâs pick. Ten boxes lined the counter. Garlic and tomato sauce filled the air, churning her stomach as she limped into the kitchen. Allegedly, it was safer for Ben to order food than touch any cooking utensils. Cody seemed to appear from nowhere behind the shiftling.Â
âCody, can you hand me a plate?â she asked. They grabbed slices and found a spot next to BEN and Jeff. It was then she realizedÂ
âWhatâs up, pup?â BEN smirked. He was dressed like herâshorts, hoodie, socks. Green and black engulfing his body as if he were leaner than he actually was.Â
âPup?â Jeff blinked. âSo itâs true? My little freakâs a werewolf now?â
âIâm not a werewolf,â she deadpanned, eyes shooting dull daggers at him. Jeff exasperated her patience. âIf I were, Iâd only shift on full moons.â
âSo what are you?â another voice asked. Two new figures sat beside her: one with stitches, the other dark-haired and sharp-eyed. The same two men she'd previously seen around the mansion. The same two who ran out after Tatâthe skinwalker.Â
âIâm a shapeshifter. Though⌠not really in control of it right now.â Her voice trailed off, shame anchoring itself in her stomach.Â
âWell, I like anyone who sends Tim to the infirmary,â said the raven-haired man, the depth of his voice void of life. This sickening feeling of guilt made her stomach lurch. Her eyes dropped to her food. The man who spoke shifted tightly in his seat; the havoc and chatter of other residents echoed around them. âIâm Bloody Painter. You can call me Helen.â
âThat asshatâs my brother Liu,â Jeff said proudly, shoving his fourth slice into his mouth. How beautifully disgust washed over her face, wrinkling her cheeks and nose. Jeff certainly was a teenage monstrosity.
âIâm (Y/N),â she replied, smiling. They chatted through the meal, and she learned Helen and Liu had only joined them because she was there. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Masky slipping out of the room with a white box and a lighter. The light scent of his body wash lingered through the halls.Â
She followed, finding him waiting at the front door, cigarette between his lips. They sat on the top step in silence, the December air biting at their skin.
âSo. A shapeshifter, huh?â he finally said. âArenât you supposed to only exist in fairy tales?â
âI suppose youâre right,â she replied. âProbably for the best. I think this place feels like a fairytale.â
Time froze around them, snow threatened to fall in the plunging temperature. The flick of the lighter came to life, illuminating Timâs exhaustion. âHowâd you end up by that river?â
Her hands clasped together, fingers intertwining in an attempt to keep warm. That familiar blank stare filled the shiftlingâs features. âItâs a bit of a long story.âÂ
ââŚFair.â He puffed his cigarette, letting the silence stretch. His exhale evaporated into the frosty winter night. âAnd now your boyfriend wonât go on missions until he knows youâre okay.â
Her head snapped around. âWaitâwhat?â
He ignored the question, flicking ash off the edge of the step. Maybe she imagined it. Maybe not. She was learning not to question certain things, still unsure that this wasnât all some dream where sheâd wake up still in Proteus.Â
âYou should go inside, pup. Long day tomorrow.â
The slight limp in her step was less noticeable. She rolled her eyes at the nickname. Still⌠it wasnât the worst. Sheâd been called worse. Maybe⌠maybe pup could stick.
@delavegaaaaa DO NOT PLAGIARIZE, FEED TO AI, OR REPOST MY WORK. Thank you all for being patient during my brief hiatus, itâs not easy paying Etsy witches and Voodoo practitioners to protect protestors and curse ICE so Iâve been putting in OT at work. That is all. Thank you.
Coronary is purely self indulgent bc I want jaybabe to live out his vampire romance dreams. I want him to have the chance to say "better love story than twilight". I want him to be able to be whimsical and romanticize love again instead of seeing it as a precursor for pain and loss and betrayal. I want this sad pathetic guy to be shooting cupid's arrow at his cryptid crush instead of bullets.

Aside from the Cookie Run Kingdom fixation I have, I'm also working on a Batfam/BATIM x reader crossover. So the premise is that the reader is from our world, where a lot of things are fiction and media, and they love comics and games. Horror games to be specific, there's a reason for this fact later in the story.
The reader dies in a car accident and was pulled into an reincarnation trope, except it's into the Bendy and the Dark Revival world first. They grew up to find themselves interning at the animation studio Audrey works at and staying with her on the fateful night where Wilson brings her to the ink world. The reader is dragged along and is split up from Audrey in the Ink world. Trying to survive the enemies, they encounter the demon himself, Bendy, and through some hapstance or something, become joined together in an Eddie and Venom type of fusion.
Gameplay journey for Audrey and bonding time for the reader and the ink demon, yadda yadda yadda, the reader and bendy kill Wilson, and Audrey adopts the reader because they're an orphan. The three of them lived peacefully with Audrey restructuring the ink world to benefit the occupants there while the joint duo are exploring the possibilities of their fusion.
Sadly, this gets interrupted when the government gets involved and tries to capture the reader, and Bendy, fighting ensues, and multiple gunshots later, the reader is bleeding out while Bendy tries to fuse them together more to stop the bleeding...
Then the reader finds themselves in the DC world during the time Bruce is training outside of Gotham, which is how he finds them. Also, Bendy is somehow with them. Looks like the ink likes to consume more than bodies and souls.
Alot of this wil have canon lore but also have a bit of my self-indulgent lore. Also, batfam with cryptid family member turns others into cryptids because why not.
How would the ghouls react if there was a cryptid walking around church looking for food other than the people living within the church?
Youâve got me excited because means more ⨠WORLD BUILDING!! â¨

Era IV Ghouls React to Cryptids Looking For (non-human) Food
Believe it or not, Cryptid spottings within ministry property is more common than youâd think! Cryptids are often drawn to areas that radiate abnormal energy. Clergy grounds tend to have high levels of magical energy or supernatural/psychic seeped grounds. Which makes it safer scavenging grounds for all sorts of beings!
Ghouls are still pack based, so very protective of their human companions. That, and ghouls live much of their lives in hell competing with dangerous species for food and survival. So the initial reactions of ghouls who guard an abbey would be entirely dependent on if the Cryptid is a danger or not.
For the sake of this ask- letâs say the Cryptid is a sentient, humanoid, and the ghouls are aware they are not a danger!
Aether: The head-Quintessence Ghoul in Training actually knew about you for decades. You lived in the Forrest and land around the main Abbey in Lincopia. You were rather an urban legend among the siblings but were no threat. You had your territory and knew not to venture too close. Itâs only when you started stalking the ministryâs livestock that Aether decided to come find you. Livestock wasnât cheap and Sister Imperator was NOT happy about losing food sources. Aether wanted to prove himself by solving this problem.
You were very easy for him to find with his quintessence abilities. He found you lurking around one of the grazing areas by the tree line, eyeing some of the milking cows. Actually, he was so good at keeping his powers hidden than HE startled YOU! You couldnât exactly run from a strong ghoul but you were relieved when he calmly asked if you wanted something to eat. Itâs how you came to an agreement. You would protect the Ministry animals in exchange for COOKED food.
Swiss: The Guitarist was sneaking around the kitchens for a midnight snack when he heard you. At first he assumed you were another ghoul (or Copia) also looking for a late night treat when he jokingly turned the light on on you. Cue you both staring shocked at each other. You with last nightâs roast in your claws and Swiss in the doorway way. It felt like an eternity before either of you moved. Truthfully you were about to bolt out of the window you crawled in through with your meal. But Swiss spoke first. â⌠you want a drink to go with that?â
Despite the awkward start you werenât intimated by the ghoul. Instead he helped fix you a plate of all the best left overs. You even spoke like you both werenât supernatural beings in the middle of a human kitchen. Itâs was actually nice. Swiss promised to keep slipping you some food if you wanted to come back the next night. Somehow you both went months of having this routine before you were caught!
Sodo/Ember: The fire ghoul was actually sent out to hunt you down! When Sister Imperator heard from a few siblings and clergy members that something was prowling the halls and breaking in she sent a few ghouls to look. Sodo wasnât happy about the task but he couldnât say no. He was convinced the siblings were seeing things⌠until the night he saw you ducking into one of the pantries. Itâs also how you found yourself tackled to the ground when you were holding a bag of uncooked rice.
The two of you grappled, Sodo trying to pin you and you trying to escape. He was stronger than he looked and didnât relent until you yelled. âIâM JUST HUNGRY!!â At first he didnât believe you until you pleaded that you didnât eat human meat! That made the fire ghoul stop completely. â⌠well FUCK- why didnât you just ask!!â Imperator was not as happy finding Sodo feeding you in the kitchens, but she supposed it was better than finding out you were hunting siblings.
Cirrus: As the most pragmatic ghoul of the band, the keyboardist was not worried about you. It was only a rumor that something was stalking the halls of the clergy. As far as she figured it: humans werenât going missing, livestock was undisturbed, and the outdoor pets of the siblings were all accounted for. So what was the issue? Well, according to Sister Imperator, itâs an issue when the food budget for the abbey keeps going up. Reluctantly, Cirrus was assigned to help hunt you down.
It only took her a day to track you down. You had feeding patterns based on the moon and certain foods you craved. One comically prepared net later and she had you! You had gulped while tangled in the enchanted net. But the tall ghoulette only kneeled and sighed. âCan you PLEASE just go join the ministry? Iâm sick of trying to catch you!â Did you really have a choice? Either way, it was the start to a new friendship!
Cumulus: She actually had a personal vendetta against you. Unbeknownst to you, some of the snacks you pilfered from the pantry were actually HERS! You werenât very versed in human food, but you loved these little chocolate truffle things. They tasted so much better than some of the bagged sweets! Although the pantry humans didnât get them often⌠how were YOU supposed to know they were specially ordered all the way from Belgium for the cloud ghoulette? Little did you know your recent trip into the food stores actually had a trap!
The moment you touched the fancy back of candies you heard someone pop out. âAH CAUGHT YOU!! YOU-!! ⌠you donât belong here.â Normally youâd run but with her blocking the door there was no where to run⌠and she looked stronger than you. Just when you thought she was about to yell, she started to laugh. âThat explains so much! ⌠well, if you were hungry you could have asked!â This is how you found a ghoul ally in the clergy!
Rain: Heâs in trouble because it turns out⌠he has been feeding you for months. You are what he actually considers a close friend now. Rain met you during his many excursions to the creeks and small ponds in the forest around the clergy. There is a huge lake for all the water ghouls but Rain likes his alone time. Imagine his surprise when he jumped into a pond and you came scrambling out. Rain felt bad and tried to make it up to you. Weeks later is when the humans started to spot you getting closer to the clergy walls.
The band Rain started to sneak out more and get really weird whenever anyone mentioned the new monster sightings. His behavior got stranger and stranger when he started hoarding extra snacks that would later disappear. It took half of the band following him out at night to see what he was up to! He ended up getting in trouble with Imperator, but luckily for him you were pretty harmless when left alone! He has to get proper visitation now, but you are happier he always comes with big full meals provided by the humans!
Sunshine: Sunny honestly didnât know you WERENâT supposed to be in the buildings. They are so freshly summoned they are still learning about what is considered ânormalâ to humans and what isnât. To Sunshine, it made perfect sense there was a supernatural being wandering around for food! They were just happy to meet someone new that smelt fun! On your end? You had been expecting the mixed element ghoul to attack you⌠not excitedly grab your hand and show you where the GOOD food was.
The band and Papa listened on and on about Sunshine talking about their new friend. None really knowing you were a Cryptid. From how they described you you were just a loner and a bit weird. They begged you be allowed to join them for dinner. Papa agreed just happy his first summoned ghoul was making friends⌠until you walked in. Everyone just stared in shock but none moved. When sodo tried to point out you were possibly dangerous Sunshine snarled. It was awkward but⌠everyone in the band just had to except you were there. Papa especially!
Mountain: The drummer actually knew you were in the walls for a while, you just didnât do anything to make him worried. So what was the point of exposing you? Also, come to find later, he had assumed EVERYONE knew there was a cryptid in wall. Why else were you allowed to stay? (Not everyone knew and many jaws were dropped when Monty casually mentioned it). He was rather indifferent to you taking food⌠until you picked clean one of his favorite fruit trees. Even the really good fruits at the very top!
One night you were making your rounds when you suddenly felt yourself being lifted off your feet. You froze as you turned to look at the giant ghoul. Monty stared at you for an agonizingly silent minute before speaking gently. âIf you take the last fruit you have to let the garden ghouls know.â You nodded , scared and he set you down. And then just.., walked off. You werenât sure how to feel. But eventually you made a friend in him!
Phantom: Our favorite chaotic ghoul accidentally ran into you while you were scavenging for food! Phantom often likes to disappear into the scary forest surrounding the main clergy Abbey. Specifically at night where he does⌠well, no one is sure WHAT he does. But the point was is you startled him and he startled you! Neither of you were particularly hostile at each other but more curious. Phantom was VERY interested in what you were and why you were so close to ghoul (and demon) territory. You just wanted to know what a ghoul even was!
Phantom, you found, was incredibly inquisitive and asked you many questions. But when you eventually admitted you were just looking for food he offered to take you home!! You werenât sure it was a good idea⌠but when he promised a good meal how could you refuse? The man in the skull face paint wasnât happy Phantom dragged in an outsider, but everyone was nice none the less. Either way, after being checked out by the other ghouls to make sure you werenât a threat you were offered a job in exchange for meals. Now you and Phantom are in charge of keeping outsiders from exploring the Forrest!
Aurora: The vocalist thought a lot of the siblings of sin were trying to pull her tail when they claimed they saw a monster in the nearby forest. Who knows whatâs out there, but humans tended to get themselves worked up over the littlest shadows in the trees! But when she heard squeals of fright, looked to where siblings were pointing, and saw you walking around the trees⌠well, she was convinced Aurora isnât a reckless ghoul, but she is very brave! And she certainly wasnât going to ignore a cryptid prowling around with vulnerable humans!
She was the first to investigate you and quickly deduced you were harmless. A bit scary to the humans, but you were just hungry! The other guard ghouls came over to see Aurora ushering you inside- much to their chagrin. But who was going to argue with a band ranked ghoul? She happily fed you and introduced you to Copia and Sister Imperator. The only thing keeping her from getting in trouble is that Copia knew what kind of cryptid you were. Now she brings you meals and considers you a friend!
