They started doing it to mess with Bruce and the other rouges at first but then it spiraled

They still call him B of course but also call him a various versions of the word mom

Dick calls him mom, mamă, mother dearest (when he wants something)

Jason used to call him mom alot when he was still Robin but stopped after his ressurection, after he reconciles with Bruce he calls him mom sometimes to mess with him and to have the joy of confusing his goons

Tim calls him mostly B but will call him mom every once in a while when he's tired enough

Barbara doesn't call him mom, for obvious reasons but will jokingly call him a mama bat when he's being overprotective of any of his kids

Stephanie, like Tim mostly calls him B but will call him mother when she wants something from him or is sassing him

Cass mostly calls him mama, sometimes mom or Mǔqīn and very rarely mother

Damian variates in calling him father, baba and mother after some convincing from his siblings

Duke, like Barbara, doesn't call him mom or any variation of the word but will use that title against others like "stop that or i'm telling your mom" type of thing

Bruce will never admit it but being called mom by his kids give him immense joy for no apparent reason, he knows that they started doing it as a way of messing with him but he will take whatever he can get

Batman clearly thinks that by having Robin look different every couple of years, it will show that they aren't cryptids like it would if Robin didn't age.

But the Justice League is too smart for that. They figured it out! But they are good friends (colleagues) and won't spill Batman's secret, but they will drop hints to him that they know, to show that they are smarter than he gives them credit for (they aren't.)

When the batkids learn that the league thinks this, they start periodically going to the Watchtower with Bruce, taking turns dressed up as Robin.

The League is surprised as Robin seems to prefer taking the form of a child, perhaps to have villains underestimate them? But they just assume Robin is trying out something new.

So obviously, when Batman finally introduced Robin, everyone in the League just assumed the acrobatic, energetic kid was also a cryptid. Because no normal child could do the things Robin does. But here’s the thing: nobody ever dared to bring up their suspicions in front of Batman or Robin.

At least… not until Dick retired as Robin, and Jason showed up.

When Jason became Robin, the League was very confused to see Robin suddenly de-aged into a younger kid. Did he… rejuvenate? No, that couldn’t be it. This one’s skin tone was way lighter than before.

Jason, being way more curious than Dick, started snooping (not maliciously) and overheard the League speculating about the weird change. He quickly started theorizing that maybe this Robin had died and Batman just got another one. And Jason “Being Robin Gives Me Magic” Todd was not about to let the League think his older brother was dead. So, knowing exactly what everyone believed, Jason just went:

“I’m the same Robin.”

Scared the life out of them. But he didn’t stop there.

“I just got tired of my old shell and went into a chrysalis stage to regenerate a new body.”

And then he left.

That was enough to confirm every single suspicion the League had that neither Robin nor Batman were actually human.

When Jason died and Tim took up the mantle, he carried on the rumor—because obviously Tim “Mr. Stalker” Drake had overheard Jason saying something similar to Batman one night.

So Tim just greeted everyone casually, and the League went, “Oh, Robin got tired of his last form and changed again.”

Stephanie’s time as Robin was short, and she never got to properly meet the League. But that didn’t stop her from making sure they knew she existed. When Tim returned as Robin and went to the Watchtower, he casually showed Flash and Green Lantern some photos of Stephanie as Robin.

“That form was unstable. I had to return to this one to avoid dying.”

And he left.

Then came Damian. Now, Damian didn’t refuse to play along out of pride—it was just complicated, because there was no way the League wouldn’t notice that Red Robin was literally the same Robin as before.

The solution?

“Molecular division,” they both said at the same time. “More efficiency for working with Batman by existing as two halves of the same being.”

Nobody objected. In fact, Green Arrow didn’t say a word, because watching two Robins speak at once made him think of the twins from The Shining.

Bruce/Batman is obviously just called 'the Bat', probably it SHOULD'VE gone to a more specific species later, but yeah. By the time the Batlings showed up it kind of...... well, it just stuck and stayed.

Dick/Nightwing at first was only called Robin, but as he grew older, they named him 'the Owl' for his silence even in the air. And when some learned that there were evil owl masked assassins (Talons from the Court of Owls) the name became also a rebellion against them, they liked Nightwing better. He's a silent hunter, agile in fight, and idk Owl just fits him. 

 Jason/Red Hood literally died and came back, so they named him 'the Phoenix'. Also for his fiery nature and how he allegedly (to the civilians) died in an explosion, but came back from the black ground like a phoenix is said to rise from the ashes. 

Cass/Black Bat was named 'the Noctule', after the Greater Noctule Bat, since it just fit and also Noctule bats are known to even hunt small birds and THEREFORE are in the same league as them, lining up with how Cass is just as, if not more, dangerous as her siblings. 

I also toyed around with calling her Kite after the Black Kite, but she's Bat vibe more than Bird vibe, (even tho in my view all the Birds are still Batlike) so.... yeah. 

For Steph/Spoiler, I decided on 'the Magpie'. Magpies are smart, mischievous, and have a habit of spoiling things for others.

I toyed around a bit with Wren, since that could also work for her, but magpies are corvids and corvids are more Gotham, so I chose Magpie.  

Tim/Red Robin would get 'the Crow', both for his darker appearance as Robin and Red Robin than the previous two, the calls he lets out sometimes (In some of my AUs) and idk I just came up with it and it unsettlingly fit. So Tim is the Crow. He's smarter than expected and a bit smaller than normal but he can fight, so he is the Crow. 

Duke/Signal would get 'the Sunbird'. I checked. There's a bird called the Sunbird. It's way too obvious as to why i call him that so yeah.

He's also called the Day Bat. Cause to me, he's in direct equilibrium to the Bat and Bird thing. All the others lean more towards one side or another, but he's directly 50/50 to me, that's his vibe. So Signal is 'Day Bat' and 'the Sunbird'. 

Two year later and this fic still has me by the balls 😔 and two years later Bats is still fucking with the JL

Like I am talking about the creation of demigods sort of stories, like Loki sort of stories.

Duke has convinced all of Gotham that he's the Bat Signal brought to life and that's why he's never seen at night and why the signal literally doesn't work during the day. He's waiting giddily for the story to spread outside of the city.

The batkids have convinced half the League that Nightwing is quite literally Batman's lovechild with Justice. Hey, Constantine had a one night stand with the manifestation of a city and they've dealt with gods before, so surely it's not that surprising? Right???
