#cryptid!batman

So I’ve been thinking: what if he became a cryptid through the collective energy/belief of the people of Gotham imbuing him with this magic??? Or their belief in him attracts this powerful spirit/deity which basically turns him into a Ghost Rider?? Idk which yet but either way - It starts when he's watching some criminals in their hideout. He's been sticking to the shadows to trail a guy, though as he comes to land he accidentally makes some noise. The thug whips around to face him, and he whips out a batarang, knowing that the shadow he was in wasn't quite as dark as to obscure human sight. Though, weirdly enough, the thug didn't seem to see him. Actually, the guy was staring through him, and even when he moved to put his weapon away, the guy couldn't see anything. Eventually the guy went away, but Batman was left surprised with this... development. He hadn't modified his suit to do that, after all.

Sometime later he's back at the Batcave and he decides to test his theory. He has Barbra or Tim or someone watch him as he walks from a well-lit area to a dim shadow. Whoever it is just stares at him, confused as to why he's even doing this cuz "no duh, ofc I still see u". At that response, he waves them off and goes back to his business. Some time passes, however, and he's working on the Batmobile or something, standing in a faint shadow. He hears Alfred walk in, looks up to him, and gives a soft nod before going back to his work. Though, the butler doesn't respond. Instead, the older mutters to himself, "I could have sworn I saw Master Bruce down here... oh well." From there Alfred ended up walking right past him almost nine times before Batman called his name. Alfred jumps and it takes Batman stepping out of the shadow before the butler could see him.
