Zula were great. One song got pretty funky, rest had at least some bounce. 2g, one sang and one also did keys/loops. One of the best ive seen today
have wanted to see grooms for a while and they were fantastic. Trio has 2 guitarists but one played his more like a bass. Said they played lot of new stuff. Just saw dude from place to bury strangers and i love them but didnt talk to him. Even tho one of the coolest things that ever happened to visible spit was having aptbs share a post i wrote about them on their Facebook page
Crown larks also good on this solid bill. 4pc w sax. They all changed up instruments for the last song but it wasn't one of their best
Yonatan gat was incredible, just like last time when i saw him at babies. Again, set up toward front of floor. The trio improvises but more rocking than jammy. Ran into a fellow college newspaper editor chad and my friend karol also came out
Last band had the bassist from whiskey bitches. I always see her out at shows, up front and having a great time. Trio was heavy. Flirtclub role models
Had never been to aviv before. It was great. White door, they ask people not to smoke or hang on their block. Small stage, friendly, interactive. Great

My first show in since last year is coming up at the dA in one week. Scrapped my entire setup and trying something new. Booked some friends from out of town on the bill, Crown Larks from Chicago and Lake Mary from Denver, who is traveling with Salt Lake City’s Eric Rich Ensemble. Each act on the bill has a different stylistic and technical approach to composing dense melodies with an urgent intensity.
