Armie seems to have put the shit Liz has done to him behind him enough to appear in her insta stories and co-parent with her but we're supposed to hate on Jamie for liking that post for the rest of our lives, even though she unliked it and unfollowed Liz? People in this fandom need to realize that humans can make mistakes. How was Jamie supposed to know what was really going on with Armie, I mean some of his closest people, like his agent and publicist, dropped him in those days. Jamie wasn't even working with him or following him. Charmies forget that in those early days a lot of us didn't know what to think, whether he was guilty or not. Just because she works for Timmy when he promotes doesn't mean she knew the minutiae of Armie's life. Yes, people can make mistakes and then correct them. Welcome to the real world (and we want Armie to get a second chance, pffft! good luck with this kind of attitude)!
The smear campaign against Armie Hammer has generated a great deal of heat and emotion for many in the fandom who might also view this show of support by Jamie Taylor for his ex-wife, in the early days of the scandal, as an unforgivable act of disloyalty. I get that, absolutely.
But let’s remember that the rush to judgment without first considering the facts and circumstances of a situation is how we find ourselves where we are right now in this fandom. I think it’s unfair to judge her so harshly based on this single action of liking that post. It’s not as though she herself hopped on the bandwagon to join in the smear campaign, as many others in her position actually did.
If we wish for Armie to have any hope in redeeming himself in the eyes of the general public, those of us who choose to use our public platforms to defend him would do well to be mindful of our own actions towards others, in order to avoid falling prey to the same “sin” of hasty, uninformed conclusions that cancelled him in the first place.
Jamie Taylor was most likely responding to the news based on all the information she had about the situation at that time, in that moment. That’s all. And that’s all she’s done, so far, as far as I can tell.
That’s the best any of us can do under these circumstances, when there’s almost no reliable information from credible sources to guide us.
Perhaps we can flip this situation on its head and see this small gift of kismet as a peace offering. Whether from Jamie or The Universe, it really doesn’t matter. We’ve now been given the opportunity to do better.
I’ve been granted the grace of forgiveness and the benefit of the doubt by this fandom many times, for which I am so grateful. If love is what unites us, embedded in that love is also the capacity to forgive. This much I know is true.
And when we know better, we do better.
Thanks for your comment. ☺️❤️🧿✌️🕊💖
