Helicotrema. Recorded Audio Festival

This yearâs Helicotrema continues in Torino thanks to an exceptional invitation from CLOGÂ and to the collaboration CRIPTA747 - Progetto Diogene - Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo - Laboratorio del Dubbio. Â
The program will present both artists from Helicotrema 2016 and the previous editions, celebrating the 5th anniversary of the project.
Inspired by the early decades of radio broadcasts, Helicotrema - Recorded Audio Festival aims to investigate different forms of collective listening by presenting a program of recorded audio pieces. The festival proposes a series of sonic pathways comprising sound works, audio plays, audio documentaries, soundscapes, experimental poetry and various formats based on the acoustic component. The program will aim to create site-specific listening situations and experiment how the listening experience can be enriched and adapted to different contexts.
Helicotrema is curated by Blauer Hase and Giulia Morucchio

"Dive within" from BeMyDelay, recorded at Cripta 747, Turin, August 2011.Â
I still remember the first time I saw Marcella live, almost one year ago. I had her album "To the other side" which I´ve listen and re-listen millions of times (you know those albums "bring me back to life" ones? That!) and I was very excited to see her in concert. She did an amazing performance, and at the end she played with her organ a couple of beautiful obscure psyche-blues song. One is this one.
I was in a strange spot of my life, in a place where I was not suppose to be, but in place which has been the right place. It was the strange series of events that lead me to forgive a person, understand him from the deep of my heart, and then, once back in Berlin, met the sitar guy that seemed to come out from the lyrics of "Lonely Planet Boy", gave him my hand and bring him home, until he didn´t fly thousand miles away, and I did me also, eight months later.Â
I remember perfectly when Marcella sung this song. Was beautiful and extremely sad. I had the sensation you can´t escape from your desire, and you can´t deny real love, no matter what is going on. Like my favorite verse in Shrim Hasshirm, "Strong is love as death, merciless is desire as the grave". I though she must have a big heart, and she must be an incredible person. It happens she eventually came in Berlin, stayed at mine, we spoke for hours at night about life...and she is very amazing.Â
OF 2012 LINE UP /1
HOW MUCH WOOD WOULD A WOODCHUCK CHUCK IF A WOODCHUCK COULD CHUCK WOOD?
This is the (very long) name of a trio from Turin that we are especially proud and happy to have in the OF line-up. It will be their first European Tour and their first time in Berlin. This is an excerpt of what was written about them on Minimal Wave Forum:
"[...] HMWWAWCIAWCCW? is another italian trio living in Turin which creates a dark mixture of pagan folk blended with noises, distorted vocals and ghostly choruses emerging from the background. Like a less sustained Death in June track, âHumpty Dumptyâ slowly goes on a martial loop but with a dreamy element flowing through the songâs dynamics. Mr.Lynch would surely approve. This is the first public effort put on wax by the trio, who only played live until now, releasing only a handful of homemade cdrâs [...]"
