Some more pics of today taken at Arnos Vale Cemetery in Bristol. It was built at the beginning of Queen Victoria’s reign and still functions today as a place of burial and memorialisation for the people of Bristol and the surrounding areas. It’s grounds are also licensed to conduct wedding and civil ceremonies and corporate bodies can hold events there too. Going round the cemetery amongst the decades old graves you do feel like you’ve been transported back to the 1800’s. The cafe is built on top of the old crematorium which you can go down and visit. The old catafalque and cremation machine is still there. Obviously not functioning anymore, buts it’s all still there in all it’s glory. There is also the old cremulator which looks like some sort of medieval torture machine. The place is dripping white history and heritage which is all on display throughout the site. This is s great place to visit, to pay your respects, have a funeral or a wedding there. #arnosvale #arnosvalecemetery #cemetery #graveyard #victorian #queenvictoria #cremation #crematorium #cremulator #funeral #wedding #funeralservice #bristol #sunday #weekend #grave #death #deathcare #deathpositive #burial #memorial #undertaker #mortician #morticianlife #funeraldirector #confessionsofanundertaker (at Arnos Vale Cemetery)
