The Lonely Tower The Lonely Father

There’s a tower next to my home, it stands high above the skyline and for as long as I can remember it has been there. But today I could feel something is different about it as I look outside the window, it’s somehow darker. “Father do you know where the remote is?” my son kevis says breaking me out of my deep thought. “What, oh yes kiddo i've put it on top of the counter…” I say my gaze is still stuck on the tower. “Everything ok Father?” The tower is pulling me towards it now, next thing I know is that I am directly in front of it, my son behind me. “Father! Hello?” kevis shouts next to me, breaking me out of my trance. “Huh?! Yeah, um i'll be right there just need to… look at this tower here…” I say slowly looking at it, i've never been this close to it before, it looks new now. “Well then i'm coming with you too then, not leaving you alone up there. ” What? “Are you sure?” Is this safe? I don't want to say no...because I do know he can handle himself if anything were to be up there but- i’m thinking too much into this. “Fine, yes let's go. Just could you get the rope and axe in the backyard while I see how we’d get up there?” I say and he nods his head running into the house, and I look back to the tower where there are stones, some of them look loose...and I can’t see anything near the top. We are going to chuck the axe at it and hope it sticks in and climb the rope after. As soon as I think of a plan the ground rumbles and howls, the dirt below me opens up, tearing as I fall down into a hole. As it closes up I see that I'm now inside. It's dark, the only thing lighting my vision is the couple small candles on the wall. “Hello? Is anyone in here?” I echo through the tower, it’s very quiet for a minute then the door in front of me swings open letting light seep into the room. A woman in a cloak stands in front of me, I can't quite see her face or her body but I can tell by the smell, the smell of rotting flesh she isn’t human, I quickly look around me for something, anything as she approaches slowly her hand outstretched “Shhh...it’sss ok...ssssir I am sssssafe, I won't hurt you” I stop in my tracks and listen to her rough voice somehow sounding sincere. “Who are you?” I say quietly, and she takes off her hood, she is….NO. It cannot be- “Marrenet?” my wife, I found her...and with the blink of an eye I see it….she sprouts a deep grin and I hear a blood curdling shout as a hole appears in the tower, I see the clouds and Kevis, he climbs through the hole pushing my wife away “No! What are you-” I begin to scream. “That is not mom, its an illusion dad…” He says and I feel a tear in my mind. I see a ripple in my vision as I see the truth. It is not Marrenet, it's a witch and old lady. I run past her, up a flight of stairs into the next room, the highest room. The doors locked, so I knock. And hear a click of a lock. The door opens. As it always will every other time someone is curious enough to open the door. Trapped.
