a crazy year

Okay, I have to do a little bragging. On May 31st of last year, I posted my first ever fic in AO3. I was terrified. I had never done any writing outside of school and a couple of other stories. I was watching Merlin for the second time and just decided to go for it. I probably read it over 20 times before I posted it. I told myself I would be happy if 10 people even saw it (and even that was aiming high for me). Then people actually started reading it and giving it kudos. They were commenting on it and asking if there was going to be a second part. I was quite literally flabbergasted. This is where the brag come in. In the link above is my second fic I ever wrote (and published) which got 2000 hits today! I know technically that isn’t as great as kudos, but it means the world to me. My life was in a weird spot last April and May with Covid and family, but writing helped me compartmentalize. I sorted thoughts I didn’t know I had most of the time. I am an artist by nature, but words have never been my first choice of medium. I thought I would leave it a two 1k fics and move onto something else. But that didn’t happen. Once I started writing I couldn’t seem to stop- ideas hit me anytime, anywhere. I have stayed up far too late far too many times getting my ideas out before I forgot them. And my fandoms have expanded, too. If you told me one year ago I would someday write a MASH fic, I would have called you crazy. But I did, and it’s one of my favorites. So thank you from the bottom of my heart to the whole AO3 community for the friendship and support. Every comment, kudo, and hit has a place in my heart. And specifically thanks to @door-into-summer for making me read a Good Omens fic sophomore year because that started it all❣️
