Laudna, not in that kind of a mood : "-- Should we send a message, and say goodbye to Zhudana ?"

Imagine . . .
Imagine if we let it happen.
We release the god eater. We let it chase away the deities from the place they call home. We watch it destroy the ones who are not fast enough, or the ones who can't bare the thought of abandoning their children, or the ones who hesitate just a second too long.
When the ashes have settled, the world is finally free from the divine and all of its interventions.
Then the war happen. The one where those IN power or those WITH power think they can make a better world for themselves when the gods are not occupying the throne. Because they believe that the problem wasn't the throne, it was who was sitting on it.
Then the next war happen. Where the people rise up against the new tyrants and fight for a world without supreme rulers, because they believe that no one should sit on the throne.
Then another war. Because people will always suffer and wish for better lives, and there will always be someone who thinks they can finally change that by either sitting on the throne or removing the person on the throne.
Someone blinked and now the new Age of Arcanum stands before you. A grand monument of people's ingenuity and arcane capabilities. A proof of what people can achieve if allowed to flourish.
The throne still beckons.
And then the new weapon is made. The one that will destroy the powerful once and for all, at least we think so, and we hope so, and maybe THIS time it will bring us the peace we wanted, or it will give us a peace we deserve.
Then, when we have a new Calamity. Not made by squabbling deities locked away behind a gate, but by people. When people have powers that makes them basically gods, just as capable of rising a city to the skies as hammering it down to the ground.
That's when the scary thought hits.
When there's no more gods to blame or pray to, or curse or call for. That's when you consider.
Maybe the gods weren't the problem.
