There is a two phased night system; when you hit the night you'll no longer be able to tend to your worlds and if your on the tree you'll be teleported off; the moon is the end of the day and if you're not inside your house you'll be teleported back their with no penalty
Time doesn't pass inside your house, vaults, or the Everkin's town
Pretty much anything you harvest that can be broken down to essence should be, the only time you'll need the items in non broken down form is for quests and generally you'll only need one or two which is fairly easy to just harvest when you get the quest.
Once you get the net and fishing rod you can trade the critters caught back to the everkin who gave you the respective tools for evercoin
When fishing you want to try and cast close to the fish but not right into them, and you can adjust your line once its in the water
Evercoin can be used to by essences and the selection to buy changes each day; if there's something you need since time doesn't pass while your in the everkin's town feel free to hang out and catch fish and bugs until you have enough evercoin for it
Shops you build will sell items, some like tailors and hairstylists are themed, but others like flower shops and general stores will sell a variety of basic items like keys, batteries, and wallpaper.
By default building will have one of their slots for employment or housing unlocked, to unlock the others you apply a token from the building customization section of the town management. Tokens are given as quest rewards, found in chests, and for sale in some shops
Once you get to the point of being able to grow your own worlds you can chose how many you have going at once, more worlds mean more essence but will take more time to tend. I suggest starting with two and adjusting with more or less depending on how you want to play
There is no real time passing mechanic other then the day night cycle so feel free to take your time exploring around or tending to your tree as you please
On the note of exploring there are lots of hidden secrets and chests so explore and see what you can find.
The game is really relaxed and chill, take your time, explore around, and have fun.
