I’m saying this as a sports fan but I don’t like those posts that go on about the value of sports fandom & get indignant about ‘sportsball’ jabs. It’s not as if sports fandom is some kind of weird hobby looked down upon by society. I actually think it’s totally reasonable for somebody to look at any number of high-profile rape and abuse scandals, or how their tax money is subsidizing a billionaire’s arena, or the many other negative parts of the sports industry, and be resentful that it’s such a huge part of our culture and economy.
