Claquesous and Gueulemer

“It’s just that I’ve never met a kelpie before,” Jehan mused, draping cat-like from a high branch of their birch tree, watching the figure below them keenly while being sure to keep all their limbs away from his snatching fingers.

“I suppose you were expecting something uglier,” Montparnasse sniped back, splashing up at them from the edge of his pond, a surprisingly playful action for someone as serious-looking as him, “but that must be many folk to you; not everyone can be as perfect as the dryads.”

“What’s this?” 

Without turning round Claquesous just says “That’s a hex bag, dear, if you touch it your teeth may fall out.” They let out a satisfied chuckle as he heard the hexbag fall to the floor, indicating Guelemer had dropped it.

“So what do you do with it all?”

Claquesous rolled their eyes. “I make fairies appear and send them to people’s houses to fix their shoes. What do you THINK I do with it we are criminals.”

Guelemer picked up Claquesous’ mask. “So this thing….”

Claq felt their breath hitch. That really WAS precious to them. “Please be careful with the ‘Mer. That’s incredibly powerful.”

“What does it do?”

“It’s a mask. It hides my face.”

“No I mean - magic wise.” 

“It makes people forget they saw me. when I’m wearing it of course.”

There was a tense silence where Claquesous debated pulling their mask from Guelemer’s clumsy hands. The silence was broken.

“So can I try it on?”

Claquesous lunged forwards with a shout of “No!” but Guelemer just laughed.

“Man, I’m messing with you.” He handed the mask carefully back to Claquesous who glared at him.

“I could kill you with any of these spells. You should be terrified of me.”

Guelemer just raised his eyebrows. “Don’t be an idiot you take 6 sugars in your coffee. I take my coffee black. You should be terrified of Me.”

Lying in bed watching dumb videos/TV shows with tea and a warm blanket

That feeling you get when you’re coming home from work on a Friday and your playing your music up high and you can feel your freedom start

Wearing a really nice outfit and having accessories and shoes that match it perfectly and feeling everything else just kind of fall into place

Having ‘family night’ with my roommates and friends and just genuinely feeling happy with the people I love

I have a fondness for afab Claquesous who started in the crime business using the pronouns he/him because it was easier to enter the underground crime scene of the time that way. It became a sort of a “professional” habit, and now he uses they/them and he/his alike. I also love Claquesous being a real chameleon, changing his appearance and modulating his voice to spy and get intel. The things he can do with his voice are incredible.
