Rambles about how I see Shamura
SLIGHTLY OUTDATED⚠️
I've seen many people that portray them as the deity with a mindset of "they will devote themselves if feared", since, as it says in game, Shamura is a deity of war.
Yet it's clear that many (not all!) people that give Shamura this trait never actually felt a fear of the war. And, talking from a little experience, this fear will lead as many people to dissent, as some will devote. Yes, dissenters won't reveal themselves, but still, they aren't giving devotion, therefore, in a CotL mechanic, they won't give you any bonuses.
And Shamura is also wise, as far as we know, so even if they had a 'phase' of scaring their own people into devotion, they soon saw that it's not as effective as it could've been. The one that takes part in a war, knows that it's the peace after it that matters (we're not talking about mentally ill people). They don't need a beautiful picture of people acting happy and content, they need the useful outcome in magic and power.
So, what do they do? Making their settlement(?) a shelter.
Poor souls, affected by the war, search for a place to be safe, and Shamura is the one that provides it. But to keep your home safe you still need an army, and creatures, that hide in the kingdom(if talking about many years in the future), want to keep their families and friends safe, so they go as volunteers, making the shelter as safe as possible for future generations.
Yet it doesn't mean that the shelter won't get attacked at all. Other gods declared war to Shamura first, either for territory or to get more people in THEIR armies, but then got wiped out by Shamura and/or their army. You can see a lot of weapons and silk traps in a Silk Cradle biome background, showing that many were slain, and the more Shamura was winning → the safer their shelter was turning → the more people joining them and devoting themselves → the stronger the army and Shamura themselves were getting → more winning, and etc, etc.

Narinder knows how to whistle, he learned this because as kits Aym and Baal would get the zoomies a lot and would get lost in the 𝓕𝓞𝓡𝓑𝓘𝓓𝓓𝓔𝓝 𝓩𝓞𝓝𝓔 and since Narinder can't really move he started to chirp if they got too far and tho slowly evolved into whistling because that was more effective

Fleece of the berserker:The lamb becomes a heavily angry, always complaint and screaming and getting upset
Fleece of fervor's favor: the lamb becomes way more lovey dovey and starts hugging everyone, narinder is hounded by kisses everytime this fleece is worn
Fleece of the hobbled heels:the lamb gains more of an impatient personality, running around and getting things done without any stop, they also lose a large sense of boundaries just to sell the speedster type personality
God of death fleece: thus fleece is alot weirder because of its connection to narinder, the lamb acts 100% mire like narinder and has a special connection with narinder, sharing senses and thoughts,narinder hates this one and it's only ever used when they go crusading together
My new hc for the goat is that they were sent by the mystic seller to aid lamb and keep them company after lamb started to regret becoming god, sending a impersonation of lamb's dead friend to stop lamb of being suspicious of the goat

One wonders if a follower could feel resentment for being given a loyalty necklace.

They cannot dissent, the necklace makes it so, but that does not stop them from brooding. That does not stop them from thinking. That does not stop their mind from twisting.
They will not dissent. The necklace makes it so.
