2012 Cannes Film Festival line-up announced!
The 2012 Cannes Film Festival kicks off in less than a month’s time, and the full line-up has been revealed!
We already knew that Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom would open the festival, but there’s plenty more besides that one to be excited about.
David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis is one of the highest profile titles on the schedule, and, frankly, we never thought we'd be so excited about a film starring Robert Pattinson. The trailer has hinted at shades of some of Cronenberg's greatest works, including Crash and Videodrome, so this is one that we'll start queuing early for.
But that's not the only film we're excited about. There's also Walter Salles' take on Jack Kerouac, On The Road, as well as Michael Haneke's Amour, which sees him reunite with Isabelle Huppert.
There are also new ones from Bernardo Bertolucci and Takeshi Miike, whilst Cronenberg's son Brandon will also be at the festival with his debut film, Antiviral. Meanwhile, Apichatpong Weerasethakul returns withMekong Hotel, having seen ghost tragedy Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives scoop the top prize in 2010.
