There are 4 daily f2p ways to gain affection (from what I know):

5 x "give hearts" x +20 affection each = +100 total

You will see a notification when you can send hearts, it's totally free. You have to wait 30 minutes between each time.

5 x world exploration stage x +40 affection each = +200 total

Beware, 1 chance is applied per "chat-able" cookie in the party. So, if your 5 cookies are "chat-able", like the beasts right now for example, and you clear a stage with all of them, a +40 is applied to each of them and the 5 daily chances will be consumed.

So, if you wanna focus on 1 cookie, leave that 1 cookie alone in the party or fill it with "non-chat-able" cookies (e.x. Linzer cookie currently). Also, you can use time skippers but if you skip 5 stages at once the +affection is applied once so you have to time skip 1 by 1 (ik, it's a bit tiring but maybe they will change it in the future)

I personally do the 6 of the half daily "Monster menaces" like that so I get chests and affection at the same time and save time jumpers.

The same applies like in the world exploration case. You gain affection whether you win or lose. It applies to Revenges too.

10 x daily Gifts from the Gift workshop

Heavily varies from what the cookie likes and what quality you randomly get. Research what your cookie likes so you know what to craft. (Shadow Milk is easy, just focus on Magic trinkets, he loves all of them)

So, if you focus on 1 cookie you will +500 daily as the very bare minimum + gifts.

Also, in the event shops, sometimes they sell Caramel Potions so you can get 1 extra f2p chance to craft a gift over the 10 daily.

Additionally, giving them toppings, beastcuits, leveling them up, ascending them can trigger more chat messages and give you affection too but those are a applied once per account. Same goes for group chats.

Finally, I guess getting some costumes sets also trigger special group chats and can give you affection. For example, if you get Black Sapphire's Black Blight and Candy Apple's Feast of corruption costumes you will unlock the "Beings of Ancient Scriptures" chat group and gives you +100 for Candy Apple and Black Sapphire each.
