so I have seen a FUCK TON of people going on about how they see the costumes' stories recently. I'm not going to be too specific because there are a scary amount of different ideas, but one example I've seen a lot is what I like to call the freaksage theory.

i don't really feel like doing a bunch of research right now, so this is the basics of it: the sage of truth is evil in that he preaches truth so forcefully. of course, there are many different interpretations of this theory alone, but that's the gist of what I got from different people posting about it.

of course, there ARE things that allude to this theory in their costume story. I'm not denying that. but there are HUNDREDS of other conclusions to be drawn from the story!!!! so I want you all to hear me when I say this:

WE LITERALLY GET ONE FUCKING COSTUME STORY. NO INTERPRETATION OF THEM SHOULD BE THE ONLY CORRECT INTERPRETATION.

so basically what I'm saying is do whatever the fuck you want!!!!!!!! make sage an absolute freak, make recluse, I dunno, like to eat tree bark (?????). just don't be like "HE IS EVIL!!!!! YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!" because genuinely I have re-read their costume story 923847918 times and I don't see why we cant just agree to interpret it different ways!!!

TL:DR: no one interpretation of the SoT and TR costume story should be the ONLY correct one, and I think we should all hold hands and skip in a circle with our various different AUs and interpretations because we DO have one thing in common, and that's that we love these sillies!!!
