I love Miquella being a twist villain because the twist isn't that he's evil it's just that he has no idea what the fuck he's doing like the rest of them. And in hindsight, we should have seen it coming.
Like Miquella's eternally a kid it makes sense that he's not gonna understand the ramifications of all of his actions. This dude is literally stuck with 11 year old brain of course he's gonna think him becoming a god will solve everyone's problems. Of course he's gonna think just charming people and forcing them to get along is fine. Of course he's gonna think "Well if anyone disagrees my big brother can just beat them up and then I can charm them into agreeing." and not realize that that's fucked up.
He's eternally a child and thus he is eternally naive to the reality of his world. He does not realize that his Age of Compassion cannot exist without his love, and yet he has abandoned it, alongside everything else that makes him him. Those who try to avoid his charms will be held under an iron fist by his consort, and he won't see anything wrong with it for he has left his fears and doubts behind. Inevitably, he'll just end up making the same mistakes his mother did, and his story may very well have ended the same way.
St. Trina was right. Godhood would be a prison for the poor thing.
