🎄With Christmas just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about how we can minimize our impact on the environment 🎄 When wrapping gifts there are some simple ways we can use things we have around the house instead of buying and using wrapping paper. 🌏 Use your children’s artwork to wrap presents. We have an abundance of paintings and glitter glue artworks Mali has made and I already use them for birthdays and for cards. It adds a nice personal touch. 🌏 Maps- if you have been travelling and have any spare bus, train, country, village style maps they make for an awesome look on wrapping paper. 🌏 Fabric/Blankets are a lovely way to wrap presents as they are soft and can be reused. 🌏Reusable shopping bags 🛍 it’s like giving to gifts in one!! 🌏 boxes 📦 just paint them and make them look festive for a special look. The key to all this is using what you have at home, not buying excess materials and really being creative with the festive look! 18 years ago I attempted to take my life. Suicide. I had no idea how anyone or anything around me would be affected. Nor did I care. I was so immersed by the darkness of my mind and swallowed by the hole in my heart. I wasn’t consciously trying do be selfish. I just wanted the pain to stop. I’ve come to know that the darkness has served in my healing and propelled me into my desire to thrive. Don’t give up before the miracle. A walk in the wood does wonders for my body and my soul. I feel a deeper connection to my family and everything around. An important aspect of our parenting is empowering our 4 year old to be an active member of the household. This includes cutting vegetables, screwing nails or building fires. She is a great little helper and thrives on that trust. #consciousmumma #consciousparent
