huffed laughter is quiet under his breath , quieter surrounded by steps and chatter that signals continued entrance to the great hall. it’s rare that he finds himself seated earlier than most of the school , tending to need to be pulled and persuaded and dragged from bed at any early hour. today , he’d woken easily and slowly before the sun , had time to appreciate the boy he’d been twined with under covers. one of the smaller truths of the two finally revealing secrets is that they clearly should’ve been sharing a bed much sooner , even if it would’ve been torture to al’s mind at a time when it was convinced everything was unrequited. the dungeons are cold , though , and he’d woken up warm.
it had also given them more unaccompanied time than usual. they’d witnessed a howler - loud argument over at gryffindor table , less eavesdropping and more the two being impossible not to hear for anyone around them. al’s interest was thin , after realizing it didn’t involve any of his family. it was almost impressive for anything in gryffindor to not involve one of them , he would’ve bet they took up the majority of the house. ❛ they probably didn’t have six years of best friend practice , in all fairness. ❜ their hands are already linked between them on bench , so familiar al had hardly realized it’d happened , but he leans into small space left to press a kiss on blond’s cheek. ❛ we are , though. if it wasn’t so insensitive i’d offer them pointers. ❜
