the crocodile locomotives, named after their weird appearance, were some truly great locomotives!
the swiss crocodiles were built to pull freight along the twisty alp rails, and their increased articulation helped them do just that! tight curves were no problem, and the two nose units provided enough power to do their job.
they had a remarkable lifespan, serving from the 1920s all the way to the 1980s!! vey good little machines indeed

Conch (“conk”) shell purchased by Pvt. George Bandfield. He wrote about it on April 1, 1863 in his first and second diary. It may be a Queen Conch (Lobatus Gigas).
