The UAC Windows 10 and a Safe Program
I really didn’t want to obliterate my UAC. That’s the thing that keeps light Malware and Virii from invading by prompting you “Do you want to let this program to make changes to your computer.” Notice the word “light” because the really nasty and persistent stuff is going to breeze right through that -- hence Antivirus programs.
Hopefully anyone reading this already knows this.
But I’ve got a couple of programs which I KNOW are safe. They’re old, decrepit, outdated but still useful. I’ve held onto them with a death grip because Win10 still accepts/runs them. They’re not a virus. They’ve outlived hard drives and entire computers from wear and age. TL;dr they’re not going to melt down my computer.
But the UAC still pops up every time, even if I’ve set it to run as the Admin. “Do you really want to do this...?”
I feel like I’ve been thrown back to Windows Vista.
So for anyone out there who might have this same problem or run into it in the future - here’s a simple solution. It basically allows you to pick those programs which you know are safe and bypass the UAC for a single file. This way you don’t have to turn the entire UAC off. It’s an ingenious fix and only takes a minute.
