Me: I wish I wasn’t so depressed that I felt a deep constant need to dissociate into fictional media…I need to try to make my life better…make myself happier
My brain: I know what’ll make you happy
Me: What?
My brain: Dissociate into fictional media
Me: OMG you’re right
Boy there isn't enough Tweek dad issues centered fanart & fics or smth else my ass is still starving
It drives me insane how much of my creativity depends on avoiding doing something else. It’s at the point where I’m seriously considering canceling a paid project that I obviously don’t want to do, because I’ve been spending two solid weeks constantly coming up with fic and fanart ideas I feel a DEEP INTENSE NEED to write and draw instead, but having the project looming threateningly over my head is the only reason I’m MAKING these fics and fanarts (and having a LOT of fun doing it), because I’m doing it in defiance of doing the other thing (“hold on, I’ve gotta do this before I can start the other thing~ hold on, now I’ve gotta do this instead~”). If I cancel the project, I’ll just deflate like a balloon and mope around doing chores all day instead. My dumbass brain is wired to have fun ONLY when it’s irresponsible
The Problem With Grumbling
“Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.” — Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT) Grumbling seems harmless. After all, everyone complains. We complain about the weather, traffic, politics, rising prices, our jobs, our health, and even the people…
