Do you ever get tired of explaining homeschooling...
Maybe just make a FAQ sheet and hand it to everyone who asks and then roll your eyes? =P
You have no idea how tempting that is! LOL! <3 Hub and I did buy our parents a book with a title like "Questions and Answers about Homeschooling."Â
I used to keep brochures on me at all times from the Trichotillomania Learning Center (a great org) when he was first diagnosed with the disorder and had no eyebrows or upper lashes.
I could write up Miss Pillsbury style pamphlets with titles like:
Selective Eating Disorder/Avoidance Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Yes, It's Real. No, K Isn't Just "Picky." Your Tricks Won't Work. Please Stop. Also, He Thinks Normal Eaters Are the WTF Ones. He Can't Believe the Things We Eat.
Homeschooling: Disregard Everything You've Heard. It's Not Like That. Really. No, Seriously. Where the Hell Did You Get Those Ideas From?
K Was Badly Bullied & That's Why We Homeschooled for 10 Years & Why We Pulled Him Out of Public School Hell Again. Here's What I Can Tell You Without Too Many Details Because I'm Holding Onto a Thread of Hope That an Advocacy Group Will Take Our Case. Plus, I Never Give Out Names of People or School Districts Unless Someone Says They've Had Problems With Them Too & Share the Names First.
My Teenage Son Identifies As Gay. There Is No Chance He Might Like Girls & Isn't Telling Me. He's Not Bi or Pan. He Does Not Like Boobs. Shocker, Not All Gay Guys Do. Please Stop Telling Him & Me That They Do. It Really Pisses Him Off. He Knows He Doesn't Like Looking at Boobs Anymore Than His Straight Dad Likes Looking at Dicks.
But you know, with much shorter and catchier titles. :p
