I made it to America!!! 🎉 For the next 5 weeks I will be living in the beautiful state of Colorado! 🗻 The jet lag has finally subsided, my body has adjusted to the altitude, and I am starting to come to terms with the fact that this is now my home for a little while.❤ I think this trip will be good for me; work-wise, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I mean, I’ve been here just 3 days and have already had more time to myself, to think and recharge, than I’ve had in as long as I can remember. I can feel myself healing. 🌱 

On a less positive note, the one thing that really hit me hard was flying over Greenland and seeing broken sea ice everywhere; a consequence of climate change...

Photos: Reality check. Source: My camera thread. We really do need to work together to save our planet and protect all innocent creatures that do not deserve to suffer for our mistakes. We have to change, otherwise there will be no planet to save. 🌎 Admittedly, I understand the irony of taking the above photos from a window of a plane on a long haul flight, but I am trying to decrease my carbon footprint and do what is in my power to protect the world in all other areas of my life. However, I acknowledge that there is so much more that I can be doing, there is so much more that we can all be doing.🌳♻🐅💧 Anyhow, going back to my PhD, I managed to get everything I needed to get done in the 3 days before my departure (mentioned in my last post). 💪 Nevertheless, my ‘to-do’ list is no shorter (currently 27 items long), none of which are small tasks, so here’s to a new working week! 

As I’m in the US, I've had the luxury of watching the finale of Game of Thrones the moment it aired. I won’t give away any spoilers, but I though it was fantastic and totally made up for the rest of season 8. 🐺

I mentioned last week that I will include a short section on ‘Minimalism and Sustainability’ at the end of each post, so here’s this weeks...

A little on minimalism & sustainability:

This week I finished a book called ‘Essential’ by ‘The Minimalists’. I found myself inspired and in agreement with every essay. I therefore strongly recommend the book to anyone else. I still have my copy, which I am happy to post wherever, so send me a message if you’d like it. ✉

When packing for Colorado I decided to take all of my toiletries with me, instead of buying new ones in the US. I did this for three reasons; 1. As I am away for a long while I wanted to have the toiletries that would make me feel at home; 2. It was more sustainable for me to take what I have with me, and; 3. To save money. I’m really glad I made that decision, because toiletries are quite pricey here, and I definitely do feel more at home for it too. 🛀

Hey guys! I’m all moved to Colorado Springs! I’m settling in right now and looking for a job because of bills and such and also getting ready for a wedding and getting ready to move into my new place which isn’t far, thank goodness! I just wanted to say that commissions are open and I have a few that I’m already doing, but I’m also taking donations via my paypal because money is really tight right now. I feel awful for asking, but I don’t know what else to do. So, all of my free time will be going toward doing commission this week. Just message me if you’d like one and we can talk details.
