#coat pattern

would you have any tips on how to draw rosettes? I’ve been practicing drawing markings for a while now but I still can’t get it to look round/circle-ish yet natural lmao

Rosettes come in a lot of varieties though! Some rosettes have more or less blobs, or sometimes they're just solid dots/blobs. 3 blobs just makes a good example for a tutorial because it shows how the blobs follow a circle shape

And by "cirular" i mean anything from a perfect circle, to a wide oval, to a rounded rectangle or triangle lol (leopard photo below from unsplash)

You could actually probably do step 4 first, and use that 'inner circle' as your circular guideline for your blobs! I prefer doing my blob lines first though so I can space each rosette out how I like (vs doing the inner circle first and later realizing that with the blob lines the rosettes are too close together)

I used my typical triangle brush because I use it for everything But a circular brush looks more realistic I think:

Ethical issues aside, I love the look of savannah cats. I think F1s and F2s are beautiful. However, I don’t agree with actively breeding servals to domestic cats and a hybrid would absolutely not fit my lifestyle. I am more ok with F3s and beyond and I still think they’re very pretty, but aesthetically speaking, I do like the look of the higher content cats. Also, Turkish angoras. So pretty.

I like the coat pattern of Bengals. Other than that I am partial to a classic tabby (different from a standard tabby!)

Classic Coat or Not: McCalls 6800

You might overlook this coat if you were looking for a classic, but first saw the version with the dramatic uneven hemline--high in front, low in back. Or you might overlook if if you wanted drama and saw the class version first. But it offers you both kinds of coat. In fact, there is an impressive set of variations.

You can have a lapel front or a standing collar, short or long or uneven hemline, belted or unbelted, furred collar on or off, hood on or off.  All have flared hemlines which make them easy to walk in while still keeping you warm. I lost patience long ago with slimmer cuts in coats which required back vents and let the wind blow through. It also has two-piece sleeves which means they are shaped to the arm and you can opt for practical pockets in the side-front seam, the best kind as they are at the position where the hand can reach into them naturally. They are all lined.

You want to make this in some kind of wool. They recommend flannel, tweeds, and gabardines. The finish on a gabardine is hard, and the weave tight, so a flannel or tweed will be easier to work with. Also, if you are doing a longer version think about the weight of your fabric. Anything too thick and heavy will be oppressive to wear as the flare means a fair amount of fabric. You can always add a coat lining with flannel backing to add to the thermal quality. I like to use a cotton flannel for the pockets as that makes them both soft and warm if you forget your gloves.
