I get an almost constant stream of emails from companies pitching me on their new product that adds something that they view as being critical to another platform. “We’re encryption for Box” or “We’re workflow for your Google GOOGL +0.63% Drive files” are a couple of examples. I often worry for these companies that are trying their hardest to call what they do a product when, in actual fact, they’re essentially a single feature on a broader platform.
